The employees violate HIPAA rules and regulations, and all without any consequences. Cigna looks into their complaints internally and guess what - nobody is ever wrong!! A very seedy business.

I am a Cigna policy holder
I am a Cigna policy holder. They constantly send me emails to use their MDLive telemedicine. I did so to refill a prescription, spent the $25 and he sent in the medication. However, it requires pre-authorization, and they didn't do that. I spent two weeks trying to get a hold of the MDLive doctor only to find out they don't do pre-authorizations. So it was worthless, a waste of time, and a waste of money. No my health has been compromised by the time I wasted with them. I am not taking my medication, and now it will take another two weeks to get into a real doctor. Just stop offering that service,

I have had Cigna twice - same bad results
I have had Cigna twice, and both experiences have been the same. The premiums and deductibles look great. But customer service is horrid. Finding a doctor who will take the coverage is nearly impossible, and the ones who take it are not the people you want to trust your health care to. They question and deny every claim. Wait times to talk to customer service are 30 minutes minimum.

Cigna has to be one of the worst
I used to have BCBS but when I retired I had to choose a cheaper plan and man are they cheap and inept. My doctor office couldn’t get a simple procedure approved. After 3 weeks of going back and forth, I finally called Cigna. It took me an hour to get a human on the line. It took about 3 hours to figure out my claim had been sitting on the desk at Evercore. What the hell is Evercore? A third party Cigna contracts with that decides if my procedure would be covered! They hire another company to approve coverage!! Isn’t that cigna’s job? How lame is that?? Too many cooks in the kitchen. Too many unqualified people who don’t really care that their own customers are in pain. How is this okay? Is there an agency I can file a complaint? I pay a lot of money every month for unacceptable service. Insurance is a racket.

CIGNA Dental - Very Difficult to Cancel Coverage
I have had individual Cigna Dental insurance since March of 2020 after the passing of my husband in January of 2020. Prior to that, we both had a policy together for several years. To be fair, Cigna handled my claims well when submitted over the last few years. Since my Medicare supplemental insurance for 2023 now includes very similar coverage for dental, I decided to cancel the Cigna policy. After calling early in January and again ~2 weeks ago to cancel, it is still stating on their website that I have coverage. Unfortunately I had the premium set to autopay through my checking account since 2020 and found out on their website I could not cancel/delete that arrangement. There also is no way to cancel the policy on their website. It would be nice if Cigna would reimburse my checking account for the $94.00 debited for 2023 and to fully cancel my policy/coverage.

Cigna is absolutely horrible
Cigna is absolutely horrible. You have to fight them every step of the way to get anything accomplished. They're an insurance company, PERIOD. They claim that they will be your friendly buddy in your healthcare journey, but don't let them get away with that crap. Their job is to reimburse claims, period. Don't be shy about fighting them; don't just file appeals, email the CEO. Cigna can improve by going out of business and starting again from scratch. Below, it asks for date of experience lol. Every date of experience with Cigna is literally a battle to get them to do their job

This company should be delisted
This year changed my plan to Cigna and this is how nightmare started. First of all, my provider told me they take my Cigna health plan. I don't need to pay anything. 1 week later, got a message from e-mail that my claim has been rejected. Then i tried to call Cigna, the waiting time is greater than 2 hours and i tried again with different time its same waiting time at least 2 hours waiting. so i decided to wait, finally waiting about 4 hours on line, someone picked up the phone and then hang up the phone at the time. I stoped calling them and pay the bill by myself, even my provider's office was shocked there is no reason they could rejected the claim.
And then, they rejected another medication claim, my pharmacy said the reason they rejected it shows its too early for them. My first medication filled on 1/26/2023, its 30 days supply. when my pharmacy tried to get refill for me on 2/21/2023[its special medication that needs to be shipped from special pharmacy, it usually take few days early to get it approved and shipped on time in case, patient won't be out of medications]. Cigna told them not available until March 11, 2023. I called Cigna and same thing happend that greater than 2 hours waiting time. Just like the other reviews says, the only thing they work hard is to find the reason not covering your bill.
I feel like this company is from hell.

Cigna hasn't paid in 4+ months
In October, I made a claim on a medical service (a consultation) that I've pre-aligned with Cigna's customer representatives (they confirmed that it should be covered).
Since then, I haven't received back my claim from October even though the company refunded me for claims from later follow-up consultations with the same doctor.
So, more than 4 months later, I still haven't received the payment on my claim and the cust. service reps can't/won't do anything but "escalate" it.
Absolutely, horrendous experience. I would definitely not recommend Cigna as an insurer.
