I will NEVER choose insurance through Cigna again! All of my healthcare policies are handled through VIA Benefits. This is the company chosen by Chevron USA for its retirees and it's perfect. Annually, toward the end of each year, I choose insurers on the VIA website for a Medicare supplement, dental coverage, a prescription plan and eye health coverage for the upcoming year. I've NEVER had to cancel a policy that I wasn't renewing using their system. If they weren't chosen my premiums stopped. BUT Cigna charged me $33 each for Jan & Feb 2024. When I called for a refund, I was told that it was my responsibility to cancel the policy and that I WASN'T DUE A REFUND. In addition, in order to speak an RLP, you have to break thru the wall created by their AI idiot. And when you actually do reach someone, they have heavy accents making them difficult to understand.

If I could I would give this very dysfunctional heath plan 0 stars!!! The representative “Celida” hung up on me!! I would never give my business to them!!!, OR refer them to anyone!! American healthcare is so so dysfunctional!! I choose NOT to profit any American healthcare company!!

I would give them no stars if I could. I have been with Cigna for 8 years, but their customer service is the worst. They never answer emails, they force you to phone them repeatedly to request pre-authorisation (and never phone you back or have any record of previous calls), they don't even acknowledge my multiple requests to cancel my policy, sent a month in advance of policy end. I even ended up not getting pre-authorisation from Cigna for payment for my medically necessary C-section until I was literally being wheeled into the operating theatre to have a baby, despite requesting it a month before and following up multiple times, because their customer service is so bad. Avoid Cigna at all costs to keep your sanity.

I invested in a Platinum insurance policy, expecting top-tier service and coverage. However, to my dismay, securing any refunds for medical services has proved virtually impossible. Their lack of responsiveness and delayed action in pressing matters were, for lack of a better word, surprising and disappointing for a company of this stature. From my experience, their customer service has been significantly under par, having turned a deaf ear to my multiple inquiries and pleas for assistance. I write this review with a heavy heart and a depleting bank account. Honestly, I can't express my disappointment enough. I advise potential customers to think twice before trusting Cigna Medical Insurance with their health care needs. There is a dire need for Cigna to improve its service and live up to the trust customers place in them, especially in times of emergency. SHOCKING!!

LetUsHelpU [at] Cigna.com is just as useless as Cigna. They work from the same script as the useless other customer service agents. I have unpaid claims from 4 months ago and no one is addressing this. Criminals.

Their customer service is the worst! I do not recommend Cigna. It is unacceptable that Cigna take your money and don't upload to activate your dental insurance policy for >21 days. The issue is still not resolved after three, 1 hour phone calls. I was passed around many departments, because it wasn't their problem to solve. Cigna you need to do better!

I had Cigna many years ago and it was a great insurance company IMO. In this century all of that has changed. In early January Cigna removed over $2000 dollars from my bank account with no notification. On January 11 Cigna agreed to return part of the stolen money. It’s now late February and I am still waiting for Cigna to do what their customer service representative said they would do. I’m very disappointed in Cigna. * Jasmyn Thanks for your speedy damage control response. If you could expedite this transaction so I can pay bills that are now passed due because of Cigna’s thievery. I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you! *On February 22 Cigna deposited a fraction of the amount they stole out of my account on January 11. Cigna has not been at all helpful in resolving this issue after many hours spent on the phone with customer service and online correspondence. I am updating my experience here because I would discourage any hardworking individual from getting insurance through Cigna. Many Americans can not afford to have several weeks salary removed from their account at one time. Cigna, I need to pay other bills. This is not a difficult situation to resolve and until the full amount is returned to my bank account I will consider it money stolen by the Cigna Insurance Company.

What is the point of having a doctor telling you (and requesting) an MRI for severe trauma when Cigna will deny it regardless, with no way to appeal the decision and then have then pass the buck to someone else. They cannot even have the decency to tell you on their website/app even though you receive an email stating there is an update. I had to find out just two days before my scheduled appointment. Useless insurance company, useless customer service staff and without the requested MRI, no specialist appointment to rectify the damaged joint.
