UPDATE to the below review - I contacted you as you requested below, my doctor contacted you, your response? STILL PROCESSING NEARLY 2 WEEKS LATER!!! Did you ever ok it? NOPE! My doctor had to withdrawal the prescription and my CHILD had to SUFFER WITHOUT due to allergies to other options!!!! I WILL NEVER PURCHASE YOUR INSURANCE AGAIN!! I hope you get to feel what it’s like to have your child in misery for a month because of liars like you!!! DO NOT SPEND YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY ON THIS SCAM THEY WOULD RATHER SEE YOU SUFFER AND DIE NO MATTER THE AGE THAN PART WITH THE BENEFITS YOU ALREADY PAID FOR!! I AM BEYOND ENRAGED! How many people are dying from covid 19 because of shady scam insurance companies such as this?! This company and I mean COMPANY (it’s a get rich quick scheme that collects money but doesn’t deliver) is despicable!! They are WITHHOLDING MEDICATION FROM MY CHILD WHO HAS BEEN DIAGNOSED WITH COVID 19!!! They make you pay your premiums but they definitely don’t deliver! Read the reviews online this company is withholding doctor prescribed medication from COVID 19 patients always with the same excuses - “It’s processing” or “your doctor hasn’t filled out the paperwork” the latter being an outright lie! Ironically they withhold patients for 10 BUSINESS DAYS!! Or until they get around to it! Ironically trying to withhold treatment for the DOCUMENTED ILLNESS DURATION! You look at their reviews from patients vs their reviews from employees and it’s easy to see where your money is going! I promise you if your lack of “processing” costs my family a life I will make sure our story is heard as well we, in cooperation with our doctor are keeping all communications as proof. How many people are you killing by condemning them to death withholding what they need?!? I urge everyone speak out, leave your reviews, contact your employers, report to the insurance commissioner and talk to the media, it’s about time we get the insurance we pay for especially now! Every other service in life that we pay for has to deliver what is paid for, not A THEORY! Insurance should be no different and held at higher standards when they can deliver a DEATH SENTENCE!

After being with them for over 25 years and not even 1 claim. They decided in there words. "following a detailed strategic review initiated in 2018 covering all aspects of the business in Plymouth. The findings of that review were that we could no longer continue to offer any type of Hospital Income plan in the UK and that we are to withdraw from this market. The decision not to renew impacts all policies of this type." So basically screw the customers who have paid into this but we are still open for other business Garry

I'm very disappointed with Cigna,not the policy as such, the hospital income plan which I've had for over 20 years as on the 2 occasions I needed it they did pay out. From what I've been reading a lot of people have had these plans for over 30 years and never claimed. Now the cynical amongst us would think "oh right a lot of these policy holders are probably in their 60's or 70's and maybe they're going to need to claim soon" so lets terminate everyone's policy. I'm not saying that is the reason but it seems very plausible. Why can't an alternative be offered if need be with slightly less benefits or a rise in premium I think this would suit a lot of people myself included.

I was receiving highly confidential medical treatment, they emailed my work address twice when I had specifically asked them not to. Don’t go with this insurer, they have not even had the decency to apologies.

Absolutely Shocking service. Cigna in recent months have become all about saving money and using all technicalities in the book to reject treatment. The customer service has really taken a downfall in recent times with representatives becoming less and less understanding of an individuals circumstances.

I've been trying to claim for some dental work with Cigna over the last few weeks. It has been absolutely infuriating. I'll spare you the details as the other reviews here cover them but be assured they'll think up any kind of inconsistent, vague and illogical nonsense to get out of paying your claim. Avoid at all costs and urge your employer to find a more ethical insurer!

NHS so much easier and that's free So bad. Inconsistent information, time wasters, vague processes, just a nightmare to deal with. No thank you to the offer of help - its as a result of raising a formal complaint I wrote my review - cherry on the cake as they say It will probably just confuse matters even more

Simply the worst insurance company on the planet. Had them for over 16 years. Paid my monthly insurance premiums on time. Never missed a single payment. Needed to use my insurance for broken bones sustained during skiing accident. Was given the runaround by Cigna for over 3 months. These scoundrels try every technique not to cover you. (Or pay the claims your plan states.) Now in medical debt for over thirty grand between hospital and x-rays plus all the surgeon fees. Cigna hasn't paid a rotten red cent! They keep claiming I went out of network (Not true) for non-urgent care. Even though their own reps told me flat out I was covered for this. Cigna is in the "business" of making money and profiteering off unsuspecting consumers. (Not in the "business of caring" about their members... give me a break already with those cliches!) Just absolutely the most unethical and dishonest insurance company. Ever! Don't ever buy insurance products from them. Company is only to happy to accept your insurance premiums payments. But then goes back on their word. Constant lies and bait and switch dishonest insurance tactics. Now lets just wait for the standard company response below my review which you know they're going to post: "sorry for your troubles can I look into your account for you and see what's going on?" Oh yeah Cigna? Here's my response back: you people had numerous opportunities to "look into my account all along and see what the problems were but you still chose not to do anything." Funny though how company reps want to try to make nice and act like they really care... only after you end up posting a review on a forum like this one. But Heaven forbid they should actually do the ethical thing all along WITHOUT being pressured by bad publicity!
