The booking of the tour was good our representative was extremely helpfully. Once we got there that was a different story in China we had a lot of traveling in between locations and a lot of unnecessary down time . In Thailand the same thing we had to pay for an extra night due to the time of the checkout time at the hotel and the time our flight was leaving. They also forgot to pick us up from the hotel to get us to the airport we had to pay our own way another expense we had to make when it was supposed to be included. Our guide in Thailand was not very informative or patient the guide in China was good but to much government talk and government owned facilities to tour. Also the immigration process in Nanjing Airport was a nightmare . Overall I would have to say I would not use Chinatour again I would not recommend it.

We had a problem with our group Visa. With a group Visa we have no verification of our trip. No stamp or stamps to our passport was given. All six of us were disappointed with the long wait at check-in because the Visa had not been seen before. Pass that point it was a good trip.

Amazing trip from start to finish!!

Overall, our trip was wonderful. The guides in Beijing, Xian and Shanghai were all fantastic and very friendly. We never felt restricted or unsafe anywhere we went. The Chinese were very friendly everwhere we travelled. I would have given 5 stars, but due to one problem, they got 4. We received a communication that due to the airline schedules, we would have to stay one more night in Shanghai that the tour called for. We were charged an extra $55.00. When I mentioned it to other tour participants, they said they weren't charged for the extra night. When I contacted the tour company, they said it was their policy to charge for the extra night. My advice is to tell them you're not going to pay for the night since it's not your fault the airline schedules required an extra day. This caused us problems with having to take an extra day off work, etc.

The tour group was a little to large -29 people is like herding cats. The tourist attractions on itinerary were excellent. The guides were excellent, except one I would classify as good. The herbal medical clinic was a waste of time and they are VERY PUSHY trying to sell you something and angry if you didn’t purchase anything. The expectations are high to purchase at stops because trip price is so reasonable. Hotels were amazing except the one in Beijing. The meals provided are excellent.
