My dog loved the food, but I don’t like the packaging. I prefer a portion that is ideal for 2 meals and all I have to do is cut it in half. The portion is based on my dog’s activity level, age, weight etc. He is not a picky eater but I like 4-5 different options for him.

It’s quality and makes energetics easier/accessible. I don’t love that carbs aren’t optional though I understand millet is gluten free. I also don’t like that size is 13.8 oz instead of 16 oz. I wish more information was on the website in terms of sourcing and explaining what chelated vitamins/minerals are. That said the vet actually responds and offers 15 minutes time slots for questions, which is amazing and unique. It’s worth a try if you’re curious. I just can’t tell if it’s right for my dog as I am still figuring out what proteins she is sensitive to.

The water diet worked great. The fire diet caused my dog to have immediate diarrhea and now is unusable. I paid a lot of money for food I can't use.

Really like the food so far. Convenient and my dog seems to be doing well on it. Love love love the biodegradable packing. I’ve gotten packaged food in the past where disposing of the packaging became so burdensome that I stopped getting the food. Things I’d recommend for improvement are: - Easier packaging for opening and emptying of food. - The recommended feeding chart be included in the box. I probably didn’t see it in an email however I got my box on a weekend and had to wait until a weekday to get instructions emailed to me on how much to feed. Texting didn’t seem to work. That’s all.

Food is great. Packaging is BAD. The Fire diet packs leak consistently as they thaw. The box that the product is shipped in has minimal tape; it is falling apart on arrival. I've complained several times; nothing is done to resolve.

This is great food and my dog love ❤️ LOVES ❤️ it. His coat looks full & shiny and his weight is stable after we dialed in his portion size — Border Collies burn calories! The greasy, leaky packaging and need to weigh out his meals make Chi Dog less convenient than some of the other fresh cooked options out there, but I’m convinced this food is helping my beloved dog live his best life. So, on balance, call me a fan of the food / annoyed by packaging & shipping problems.
