We like these masks!

Castlegrade's large size mask arrived with a strap that presses the mask uncomfortably against my face. Then I discovered, on a separate page on Castlegrade's website, a longer strap was available as a separate order. After paying over $50 (including shipping) I am upset that my email raising this issue didn't even receive an answer. My hat size is on the small side of "Large" yet this Large mask comes with a child-size strap. Even my wife (definitely a "small" head size) rejected the mask because it pressed too tightly on her face. Beware.

Hey there, Thanks for your review. Ear straps would likely be a good solution for you. Many customers find that it relieves pressure from the face but maintains the seal. Email us at [email protected] and we will give you very special discount off ear straps, and will throw in a long strap for free :)

Thanks for helping me when a shipment was lost.

My interactions with Castlegard personel was very positive. My major disappointment is with the mask design, specifically with the mast size. In order to achieve a good seal on my face I have to have the mask held high on my nose and this puts the lower side of the mask right on the crease between my chin and my lips. In this position the mask moves up and down when I talk or open my mouth. This higher position also interfers with my glasses fitting properly.. I have hundred of hours wearing masks, mostly 3M half mask respirators so I am familiar with mask wearing. I know how to check for proper seal and I do find that the CG mask does seal well, even when moving up and down on my face. Interesting in that the mask fits my wife much better. The other issue I have is condensation build up inside the masks when being used out side in cool weather. So much so it drips out onto my chin. The 3M design is such that there is a cupped area at the bottom of the mask which retains moisture away from my face.

I gave my mask away as it was way too small for my normal-size, 70-year old, female face.

The large size mask is too small for a normal adult. And I have a lot of wariness over the way the filter is held in place. It definitely does not create an airtight seal. I have thrown mine away because it just won’t work for me.

This was very uncomfortable for me to wear as my hair became tangled in the straps. I also found that the inside of the mask became quite damp...not fun.
