Care.com was OK till they mandated members give personal information to continue to use site offered to provide them copies of background checks as I dont give out my personal information they declined

Do not look for a sitter on this site if you even have a small event that could pop up on the background check. Then if you try to call them to discuss their information you call goes to a call center not within the US. So you will be talking to a foreigner with no idea of what he is talking about. You see the bad rating this company has. Save yourself the headache because problem resolution will not be easy.

Care deserves ZERO stars. Reading other reviews, I WISH they had just cancelled my membership. Instead, they charged me every month for a year and a half for a “premium” membership. I had originally paid for one month when we were looking for a nanny before my younger son was born. I had used a credit card that I never really use, and discovered recently that I was charged $39 every month since then. At no point did I receive an email with confirmation of monthly payment or membership, or any type of receipt to make me aware that I was continuing to be charged. During the year and half, I had signed on to the website maybe twice. When I called to complain they just said the website says that my subscription would continue until cancelled and they would provide “feedback” to management. It also was a pain in the butt to get through to a real person. There is no option to talk to anyone about membership or subscription questions. In the end I received a short, generic email saying they refunded me for the last month's charge of $39. What a slap in the face to a stay at home mom, coming from a corporate. I DO NOT RECOMMEND EVER USING THIS SITE.

Please save yourself a major headache by NOT signing up with this company I was on this site for less than 24 hours I tried to apply to several jobs I wanted to change the profile that I had typed in and it was coming up incorrect time after time in order to cancel my account and/or try to fix the account it must have taken the woman an hour AND she put me on hold countless times I'm not exaggerating an hour to cancel my account so please don't go here and do not go to sitter.com either save yourself the headache!

This service is so unbelievably inconvenient for caregivers. I wanted to change my last name on my account because I got married and it would not register my background check. After spending over 30 mins with one of your representatives on the phone, they informed me that instead of someone simply changing my last name, I will have to open a totally new account. Which means for me- telling all of my possible jobs offers that I need to open a new account (sounds super sketchy!) and having to start from zero with no reviews. 😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡

I have been humiliated, ripped off and locked out of my account which I had paid for the year in advance. When they ran my background check for my 2nd year (first one went fine) they entered an incorrect birthday and it came back with another person's information as my first and last name are very common names. Long story short the other person had a criminal record. And I could not reach the correct person to resolve it and the representatives I spoke with seemed unwilling or unable to point me in the correct direction to prove who I am. Despite the incorrect information entered on their part. I feel falsely penalized for negligence on their part and the actions of a complete stranger I share a name with. I have sent to them my drivers license and given my social security number and they still did nothing to help. It's ridiculous and an unnecessary stress. I have been stripped of my only source of childcare for my 2 young kids. I am looking into seeing what I can do about it with a lawyer.

Care.com canceled my account for no reason and refused to give me a explanation as to why. They claim they don't legally have to. I was looking for a babysitter for my 4year old and have never done anything on the app or website to justify them closing my account for no reason. I tired to email them and resosn with them but they still refused. I now have to take legal action which is honestly ridiculous.

We signed up for care.com so that we could post a job to try and find someone to help with my elderly mother in home. After paying $120 and having the account for about 2 weeks we went to login one day and we could not get on. When I tried to reset the password it said my email account was not connected to care.com, even though I had just used that very email address to login not 3 hours earlier. I have sent numerous emails and called multiple times (during their very inconvenient office hours) to get absolutely NO help!! After 3 phone calls I never did get anyone on the phone and when I tried to email it said to call during office hours! Do NOT waste your money on this program!! I have also read several articles/reviews about people who have paid and had their accounts cancelled for no reason!! I am assuming that's what happened to me but I can't get a human on the phone to verify what's going on!
