I just opened my business account on care.com. It seems they don’t even have app for business accounts and offered to carry computer or tablet to get leads. They also refused to refund my money. They are still in 20th century. So unprofessional and unfair

After having a care.com account for 10…
After having a care.com account for 10 years, (w excellent client reviews, and a 5-star rating), and finding numerous senior care jobs through them, my account was suddenly closed.
In 10 years, only one customer complained because I told them that doing full house-cleaning was not a part of what caregivers duties are. (light housecleaning, yes...but not daily deep-cleaning,mopping, windows, etc)
The next day, my profile, and account were closed, and customer service said they could not reveal why, nor could they re-open. I asked to have the case escalated to a manager, and was told that someone would call me the next day.
Instead, I received an email saying that my account would not be reopened, end of story.
Then, I researched and found all the horrible stories about how they treat both clients and caregivers. I was shocked.
This is my livelihood....and they don't even care one bit. They are a $116Million/yr company, and won't even review complaints to make sure they are real.
Sadly- so many people are affected by this way of doing online "business", and there are no laws to protect the customer.

One star rating is too good for this…
One star rating is too good for this rubbish site. I've been looking for a job constantly and have a lot of experience but never received any response. I sent an email asking what the problem was but of course, no response. Glad I never gave into their pay to increase your chances scam.

Under no circumstances should you pay…
Under no circumstances should you pay to use this site. I registered looking for an aupair and in about 2 hours or so I received 4 applications which I wasn’t able to respond to except I paid.
I paid £29 immediately and then discovered. One of the four applicants to be fraud who wanted me to send monies and not purchase a ticket in her name.
The other 3 applicants have not responded to my messages till date and it has been 3 weeks.
So what I figured was that Care.com have bots who send newly registered people emails/ messages just so you can pay the £29 and then you get no response back.
Don’t pay for their services. Absolutely not worth it.

Total waste of time and money
I wish, wish, wish I had read the reviews here before signing up for this useless service and essentially throwing away $39 for a one-month membership. I sent out 10 requests for caregivers and petsitters, received only 5 responses, only one was available and her location was much further away than stated so I would have to pay her travel time of 1 hour each way. None of the other 4 were available and the remainder didn't even respond. Total waste of time and money. Don't bother and instead look elsewhere.

Thanks for NOTHING!
I made an account 6 years ago looking for occasional babysitting for my (then) 3-year old. Never heard any responses from anyone.
Until today-SIX YEARS LATER!!! I somehow got an email from a babysitter via Care.com regarding my old post, so I went to check it out. Thank goodness I still remembered my email address and password to get in!
Well what do you know!! I didn’t have one message from a provider. I had FORTY-TWO UNREAD, UNSENT (to me) MESSAGES!!! That I NEVER RECEIVED!!!
Thanks for nothing, Care.com. Obviously, in 6 year’s time, I managed to find someone, ON MY OWN (no thanks to you!), and I clearly don’t need a babysitter anymore for my now NINE-YEAR-OLD.
Oh yes-beware! Figured out that *IF* you want to be able to converse with a caregiver or message anyone else, you have to “upgrade” from your Basic Membership = aka = PAY.
What a rip. I found how and where to close my account permanently and did that immediately. Waste of time.

Horrible
Horrible. Scam site. Nobody really wants a job. Waste of time. They keep charging my bank account after I have canceled. Scammer site. No good caregivers and nobody is qualified and they will keep charging you without permission

I am like Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz
I am like Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz - I do not feel there is anything for me on Care.Com. Nothing but an endless list of nickel and dime upgrades that really add up before one can even expect to get to an interview. I am just one person in retirement looking for someone to give service to. I do not have a license or a history with an organization to tout on their website. They have a big presence on Indeed.com which I receive daily emails from where Care.com makes it sound like all one needs to to is join to get access. Well, it's not like that. You need to give all your information, and then you are pumped for additional fees again and again before you can hope to connect with anyone. It's not entirely up front, and there is NO customer service to lead you through the levels and the maze that you have intentionally set up. Ingenious business plan, but not user or service friendly.Care.com does not care for or about me as far as my experience has taken me. Keeping everyone at arm's length speaks volumes. Limited phone tree options are maddening. They don't include many options, which is by their design.Perhaps if I had had a better experience with their "effort" at customer service, I might feel that there is a place for me here, however it has been one of the more frustrating experiences I have had. Smoke and mirrors - that's what it feels like. Not up front and service oriented. They know this is true....and if they provided the capability of being the tiniest bit personal or accessible with the public and their members, they would have a much higher rating than what I have read in the consumer reviews.
