We had a bad experience with a Nanny who worked a couple of days with our young son. He had a great time with her and she told him about all of the fun they would have this summer, even said how she wanted her brothers and sisters to meet him. Then, she quit with no notice and no explanation. It broke his heart and he thought it was his fault. We were able to find someone else, but decided to go and write an honest yet negative 1-star review on her Care.com profile page. We explained what happened in an appropriate and professional manner. Two days later, Care.com cancelled our membership. I hadn't held Care.com responsible for our decision to hire her. However, it's horrible that they would silence someone who held her accountable, and will allow this "nanny" to continue to do the same to other families.

Care.com can be a great source, HOWEVER....I don't really like the way they operate. You have listings of services needed, and then you have people seeking jobs. If one of the parties doesn't purchase the premium service, then the 2 parties cannot communicate. For instance, I have the basic priced service. I have applied for over 8 positions. I haven't received any messages back and feel that my profile is great. If the people needing service didn't purchase premium service, then they don't even know that I applied. So, if you are willing to pay for the premium monthly fee, you should come out fine. If you plan to do the small annual fee, all you can do is hope that the jobs you apply for, or jobs you need filled, that those account holders have premium or you won't get the offer or the request. My opinion, Care.com should "care" to have one price for everyone and let people help other.

Care.com flat out stole over $1000 from me. I subscribed for 3 years, never was able to hire anyone so I cancelled, at which point they didn't send me a single email notification (like they are supposed to do when you have an active subscription) but they continued to charge me for 3 more years without notifying me (even without me providing renewal info for an expired card). I unfortunately hadn't noticed it on my credit card statement because it was charged quarterly not monthly so missed the charges. When I called again recently and complained, they said they will now cancel the account but refused to refund the 3 years of unauthorized charges. And started sending me emails again. Hopefully they won't continue charging me next quarter. We'll see.

Please dont give any membership fee or any payments whatsoever. It's very hard to get hold of them. Very suspicious. They have a website but when it comes to canceling your membership, you WILL HAVE A VERY HARD TIME canceling! If you call them on the phone, you will not get a customer service rep. Either line is busy or they will hang up on you. I WANT TO GIVE THEM A RATE OF ZERO INSTEAD of 1.

Horrible DO NOT USE. I joined to help my daughter in law while son was stationed overseas. All providers were way overpriced tried to cancel after first month by calling. Told I could only cancel online on a desktop computer. Explained I don’t have one was told that no one could help me and I just needed to find a desktop computer still having to pay No help and just keep taking money

Total Scam, do not give them money, or engage with them.

Literally the most confusing scammers of all time. Cancelled my membership in November and charged until this coming July. Avoid avoid avoid. Please, when you read this, know that there is NOTHING professional about Care.com. Money grabbing thieves.
