"Free" membership allows you to do absolutely nothing - you have to pay to send and receive messages, and now what used to be an optional background check is a mandatory annual fee, which has to be paid to even log on to the site. I can't even cancel my membership or remove my profile without paying $15 to get past the background check page. You shouldn't have to pay to stop using what was supposed to be a free service!

70% of the caregivers I directly message never even give me the courtesy of a response even though the message was delivered and they had logged in since I left it. I had an online problem cancelling my service and the toll free number said a person was not available due to COVID19 and to go to the web site which I was having the problem with in the first place. They are a terrible company with zero customer service. Beware!!!

Horrible Company I started advertising with Care.com for help with my childcare facility about 3 years ago. The ads were about 35.00 a month. Without notifying me Care.com increased their charges to 75.00 a month and stopped my ad. When I realized my ad was no longer running I contacted them and was told I needed to now pay 75.00 a month which I did however when I tried to cancel Care.com would not allow me to cancel and is still billing me 75.00 a month. I explain that I’d been advertising prior to being charged 75.00 but they still would not cancel the billing.

It's bad enough that one party has to pay to be able to send and receive messages. Now there is a $14.99 "background check" fee to be able to continue to use their app. I received an email today stating there is no longer a free option. You either pay for premium service or you pay this fee, which does not include the ability to send messages. I've done gig work before through apps and their background check was always free or like $3. Way to take advantage of desperate people looking for work during a pandemic Care.com.

Care.com is all about money. Theie app is a joke. They control what you see and push jobs forward that they need to fill instead of letting me see my choices. I just received an email stating a membership cost of $14.99 is now required. If you've been fingerprinted, you can give your information to be checked to anyone, so this is just a fee for them. In California you can be a certified home caregiver for $25 so why would anyone pay care.com $14.99? I'm definitely all done with them now.

Operations is terrible, took about 5 calls to get a booking, they kept saying they get an error so can I just go on the site and do it. Today I called in to the main line, asked my question, got put on hold, then the guy asked me to repeat, then he said he's on the billing team and cannot help me. My husband's work has 10 days of backup service, we've used 2 days and 4 were deducted. Came to find out they deduct per child... so now I can only work 5 days instead of 10... I've used Bright Horizons backup in the past and they are so much better and more professional.

Would give 0 stars if I could. I was a member in early 2010 when it was better, even got a good position. Then signed up as an RN recently during COVID to try to get some part time work, and have had nothing but trouble. You can't look at anything without constant pop -ups to upgrade. Applied for many jobs without any responses.. Today they locked me out of my account unless I pay for a "security check"....which I don't need, because I have an extensive background check that another company did for me in March. And I can't delete my profile because they locked me out. I am furious with this unscrupulous company!!!!

I signed up on care.com years ago. Now you can't even see your messages unless you pay to upgrade your status. Most people can't afford that monthly fee. Most people are trying to find jobs. I will delete my page. Thanks for nothing.
