I've been on care. Com for over a year and I have never got any work. As a carer I have seen posts advertised then they disappear, return and disappear again. Last year I had someone contact me three times from fake profiles they had set up. I live in HuLL yet I ger notifications for Doncaster, York etc. I thought this site might help me get some additional hours on top of my current job but after reading the reviews I doubt it very much.

This company is a SCAM. My husband signed up last month to be a care giver. He has over 20 years of experience working with the elderly and disabled. In March 2022 he was hired by someone on the sight to take care of 2 people in one home and STILL HAS NOT BEEN PAID as of April 1, 2022. Yet care.com has taken another monthly fee out. We have searched everywhere for a number to speak with someone about this matter and haven't gotten one response. We have emailed them SEVERAL times about this matter and not one response. THAT ISN'T OK. He provided a service to not just 1 client but 2 and should be paid accordingly. If you are reading this and thinking of becoming a caregiver my advice is to choose another company. Unless you like working for free!!!!!!

Potential sitter flaked and ghosted me at the last moment at a time when I was desperately needing help and then turned around and reported me to care.com for having my first name and last name in the wrong order. It was so highly critical to care.com that they wrote me a love letter to fix it or be removed from the site. Enjoy~

I use care.com as a recruiter for a nanny agency. Their customer service is very unresponsive, there is no way to call them and when I email, the responses are very delayed and I sometimes get no response at all. When they do respond, there is no possibility of a refund when some part of the site is down and I could not actually use the service. I also used care.com when I was a sitter so I saw it from that side too. I received tons of messages from parents who had no profile information or details. I had issues with parents offering very low rates, or asking for my interview availability and never responding to actually meet me. Then, I would hear from them a year later when they were looking again. There is no accountability for any users of the site. As parents point out in these reviews, it's hard to figure out how unsubscribe/deactivate account and stop being billed. That is true whether you're a recruiter, a parent or a sitter. The recruitment membership is overpriced, because candidate quality varies so widely and the system has no algorithm to match schedules and job requests. I consistently receive lots of applications to my job posts, but very few responses to my requests to interview. I hope someone builds a better alternative to care.com.

I was looking for a dog walker in my area, and came upon care.com. It was very friendly, walked me through the process of setting up a listing for what I wanted, showed me potential dog walkers in my area. Was told with the limited (free) membership I could only post a listing and see who applied. But that seemed like all I needed. Someone replied to my listing, and I logged in to care.com to see who. This is when I discovered that with a limited membership, you can only literally see who applied. You cannot read their application, nor can you reply to them. To read this one application, I'd have to pony up $38.95 for a monthly membership. It goes against my nature to NOT reply, so I'm caught between "it's ridiculous to spend almost $40 to reply to a single email" and "I can't possibly just leave this person hanging there." VERY misleading.

Iv has been trying to hire someone for 3 months now as a housekeeper. Most of the workers never reply. And everyone that I have hired turned out to be VERY flaky. These are workers that are not capable of keeping a job.

I needed a babysitter for an important appointment I paid these subscription for the year they took my money will not give it back and then told me I failed a background screening there's nothing in my background that shouldn't allow me to get a babysitter nothing maybe but a DUI from a few years ago I have no violent history nothing in my background and there's no way to get my money back nobody to talk to no customer service I feel it was a big scam do not subscribe before reading every single term and condition you will not get your money back and you will not be able to use their services because they will suspend your account and you won't even be able to login to get the help you need to figure out what to do next they just send you a letter and tell you that they suspended your account and that's that your babysitter's canceled and there's nothing you could do about it to get your money back

Terrible service provider with predatory billing and invoice practices. They said one email upon start of your account and make it extremely difficult to unsubscribe, while they continue abusing your credit card and taking money. When you call customer services to explain not being able to unsubscribe and difficulty using the online tool not letting you unsubscribe, they state you agreed to be charged in perpetuity without any invoices or notification of upcoming renewal. In addition to the predatory billing practices, they do not have any real caregivers on their site and folks just sign up for a day of care to scam you out of $100-$200 and never return.
