I recently created a care.com account and signed up for a 3-month subscription. I posted a job online, and had some potential caretakers respond. THEN the app logged me out and I could NOT log back in. I kept trying the forgot password button to just reset my password, but it wouldn't send the link to my email. HOWEVER, through all of this, I kept getting notifications on my phone of people messaging me on the app, but I couldn't log into the app. I finally tried on the website on my laptop instead of my phone, same issue. I am LIVID I wasted $70+ on nothing. What a scam. Never again.

Terrible service. Enrolled me on a monthly subscription without properly notifying me and after I requested to cancel the membership and receive a refund they refused to do so. Not surprised when I saw terrible reviews on here and also are the website. Also don’t expect to see a lot of nanny or babysitter options on their platform.

Looks like I really lucked out several months ago when I signed up I also saw all the fake accounts but luckily a few im of them turned out to be legit and I found a babysitter/nanny...after a lot of trial and error of people being recommended but not having the hours I need or never responding. I am now in need of a back up person and renewed my membership...why oh why did I not check the reviews first! I hope care.com fails VERY very soon! They don't offer refunds because they know people will discover many of their profiles are fake and or tampered with. I sent 5 emails out one morning, 3 of those people were listed as "responds within an hour" it's been almost a week and NOT one of the 5 messages I sent returned my communication. Two other messages I sent before this day showed availability BUT when they responded 1 only worked nights (I need daytime) and another only worked Tuesday and Thursday. Still to Facebook groups and Nextdoor app. Save your money. I hope a lawyer brings them down for dishonest and illegal business practices cause this doesn't seem legal what they're doing is selling a fake product!

I paid for a premium account... and within a week...I got an email stating they had canceled my account. No refund. No explanation... nothing. It's a rip off and a scam! Don't waste your money

Absolutely a scam. And do Not Believe you can cancel without issues as they say! Purchased the annual membership for the prepaid discount, sent MANY requests to listed housekeeping applicants for over two weeks, AND posted a notice for position available... Received NO interest/activity. Called customer service to cancel my account and was told there is no refunding on an annual membership (after only two weeks of use???) which I should have noticed if I had read the fine print. Total scam, save your money!! Would have given them ZERO stars if that option was available. Wish I had found this review site before I spent my money.

My login stopped working and when I tried clicking the “forgot my password” no email arrived. I later received an email saying they had cancelled my membership. When I asked why, I got: “Under our Terms of Service, Care.com reserves the right to terminate your membership for any or no reason, with or without notice. In addition, Care.com is authorized to notify other members with whom you have corresponded with of this action.” I replied staying I understood they may not be obliged to explain but it might be a common courtesy to do so as I had spent a lot of time contacting potential care providers with details of our needs. I am not sure why they refuse to give a reason - surely this would help explain what was going on. I was certainly not rude or inappropriate (as far as I am aware) and had a genuine need for care. It seems strange that they do not wish to give a reason. I can also say I got no responses so I wish I had read earlier reviews and not wasted my time on this site. On other sites I have received responses from potential care providers within an hour and most have responded with in a few hours. So I would strongly recommend not wasting your time with this site.

We have been a paying customer for 6 weeks, and as other people have suggested, we suspect a lot of the accounts are fake, or at least- non active people, not looking for work. They put forward a list implying these are all people looking for jobs in your area. However, most don’t respond to messages. The site sends you people’s details who they say are keen but one person came back and said that she hadn’t contacted us and was in full time employment elsewhere. Don’t waste your money!

Scam..this is a bait and switch...post you job request but have to pay to respond to applicants...this should be taken down
