This company is a total scam. They have non existent customer support and took my money then closed my account. They have not responded to me after numerous inquiries. Nannylane and sittercity are both far superior to this platform. Don't waste your time. [edit] I wish care.com responded to their customers as quickly as they respond to their reviews. It was a week to get a reply to my account being erroneously closed, and a few hours to get a response here.

I attempted to use Care.com to find suitable childcare for my 5 year old daughter. After signing up and paying a fee, I received an email that my account was cancelled because I was some kind of risk. I am an Operations Director at a reputable nonprofit agency. My daughter attends a premier private school in the area, although that shouldn't matter. Upon seeing the cancellation, I reached out for clarification, and twice received no response. After securing childcare with a local franchise of another company, I sent a response to Care.com regarding their lack of customer service. The reply, again, stated I am some kind of risk, but refused to tell me why based on "company policy." The lack of customer service and transparency is abhorrent. I would advise everyone to go with a local franchise of other companies. We worked with two and chose an amazing Master's level student in early childhood development for our daughter's summer childcare. Care.com is not caring, nor professional. Seek services elsewhere.

Avoid this website. It is a scam designed to trick you into believing it is worth signing up and paying for. Also, their so called customer service seems to be run by automated responses with replies that clearly indicate your concerns have not been read properly. I created an ad in good faith hoping to find a suitable carer to support my child with extra needs. I was then inundated with emails claiming I had received direct replies from potential candidates to my ad. However to read their replies I had to pay. It seemed worth it considering I was being shown so many messages in my inbox. However, on paying and being able to read these “messages” there was clearly no-one who had directly responded - all I got was profile information that I could’ve seen before I’d paid by clicking on their profiles. On questioning through their help page, as I thought maybe I had misunderstood how to navigate their site, I simply got what appeared to be stock replies. In the end I just assumed I was being responded to by a machine, despite repeated questions for clarification. I wish I’d seen how many bad reviews they’d had here, prior to signing up. A cynical way to get money off people who genuinely need help! In response to care.com’s response below. Here is a prime example of not paying attention. I have already contacted you through your “help” pages several times. Often when replying to your responses I would get an automated message saying “according to our records, your prior inquiry has been resolved” - well no it hasn’t and wasn’t, so please don’t ask me to go that way again and pretend that you are interested in doing a good job. If you were interested in doing a good job you wouldn’t have so many poor reviews!

Isn’t it funny that almost every bad review on here is about the auto renewal. This is such a bad feature to have on any company website. It is very misleading and it is also such a struggle to find where you can actually cancel the automatic renewal service. How about actually giving the customer a heads up right before the credit card is going to be automatically charged?? Of course not. That’s the scam. I’ve been using care.com off and on for many years and I’ve paid my dues and the one time I mistakenly did not cancel in time they absolutely refused to give me a refund. Times are very hard right now with inflation in every single area and they wouldn’t budge. I absolutely refuse to use the service any longer.

I barely remember paying for this. I was researching childminders for my children some time ago and I thought I signed up for one month only to get access to contacts. I did not notice it was recurring and the lack of prominence of this on the website is appalling; the pricing information lists 1 month: £29/mo; 3 months: £19/mo (total amount £57); 12 months £9/mo (total £108). You then have to scroll down to find in very small print a message that says: “All subscriptions are automatically renewed until cancelled”. I genuinely and reasonably believed I was signing up for one month only. The no refund policy on top aggravates circumstances by showing there is no understanding that people can be misled by the pricing. The volume of complaints on this issue also makes this clear that there is a serious issue with the prominence of Care.com’s pricing information. If you use them, make sure you actively cancel as soon as you no longer use the service as Care.com just continue to take money from you.

Don’t go near this company. My membership automatically went into auto renew even although I signed up for a 1 month contract. If you don’t notice you could be paying lots of money for years. This is one of the most despicable, horrible scamming companies I have ever come across in my life. The government isn’t doing anything about companies like this, who are allowed to continually take money from your bank account. They also stated they don’t give refunds. Pensioner, sick people who are looking for care, will be caught out on auto renewal. They are taking advantage of the most vulnerable people in society.

THE WORST COMPANY. This company is basically a publicly traded scam. They will bill you, then no support, then broken software. TERRIBLE
