Used them back in 2020 to look for help, never found anybody through them. They've been rebilling my card $49 / month ever since. Yes I should have noticed, but they can also tell inactivity on their system - they should at least be sending upcoming renewal notices periodically. But they probably make the bulk of their revenues from this.

I tried out this company for 2 months. The "caregivers" on this site were not reliable or trustworthy. I canceled my subscription and yet they continued to charge my card. I was finally able to find the customer support # on my bank charges (it's NOT listed on their site) and was told they have "a zero refund policy"! and it was their mistake and I'm having to pay for it! BE VERY CAREFUL

They set me up recurring and due to an illness never reminded us we were being charged monthly. I didn't catch it for 3 years of inactivity and they just said. Tough luck.

Is this a scam? You have to pay to read in box messages from people that might do the job? I made an account to get a doggy walker. I got one match (which wouldn’t have worked as she was too far away). I got a message from Care: do I want to read the message? Of course, as the message was redacted but to do that I’d have to upgrade to a premium package? I thought I was seeing things. I went back and forth in an attempt to circumvent the issue to no avail. I don’t get it and asked for my account to be removed.

Thank you for your feedback. We are a paid subscription service and not a free service. We're sorry if you thought otherwise and therefore felt mislead. That was never our intention. Many sites like ours charge a fee in order to be able to offer you the features our site offers. Otherwise we'd just be like any other free classified site with very little to offer. Care.com charging a service fee to care givers, when calculated its as much as an hour's pay and dont try to contact them weeks later you'll get a random email, you're below 1 star. The fee is attached ro every job as far as I see I have turned down jobs based in the fee.

Care.com is a complete rip off. They force you into paying $40 for the first month to even message a potential caregiver. The app is touchy and glitchy. On top of that, they make you agree to pay for the job your requesting before you even meet the sitter. It is unbelievable to me that they expect families to put so much money forward without even having had a conversation with a candidate or getting a commitment to care. I had a feeling I shouldn't have to pay for this service, and I never will again.

I posted an ad for a pet sitter on care.com and the next night I received an email from a security company saying they were doing a background check on me. I had never consented to care.com to allow such a thing. There is nothing on their website that says users are subject to one either. It does say that people you hire are. I have a massive problem with a security firm giving my personal info (including social security number) to a website without my permission. When I contacted care.com they denied having ever requested this. Thankfully the security firm sent me the information to prove that CARE was lying through their teeth to me and I was able to stop my information from being compromised. Again, if they were up front in asking permission and explained the information that was being collected, that is great! But they did neither and then lied.

signed up two separate times and never found qualified help. the second time I signed up for one month and again found no qualified help. I realized today they have been billing me $38.95 a month and there are no people to talk to in person or online or in a chat. I finally disputed it with my Platinum Card Membership. They will handle them.
