I attempted to sign up to find a sitter. 1st it was $40 to sign up. Then they wanted you to add another $20/mo to avoid additional background fee charges. Skipped that since you *could* pay $80 for each individual one of you even do that. I thought the whole point was they already HAD background checks. Then when I attempted to search and set the price I could pay, before I even sent messages out it wanted you to pay for the time you thought you would need your fitted ahead of time plus their own fees which was like another $10. So before even hiring anyone you potentially had to pay $100! When I attempted to try the other way of posting my job for sitters to contact me, it still ended up wanting to take me through the same process! I immediately canceled but they REFUSE to give a refund for a service never even utilized. Scam and ridiculous cost.

I set up a profile to be a child care provider. Care.com claimed my profile does not follow guidelines. What guidelines did I not follow? I don’t know. Why do I not know? Well care.com didn’t tell me! I stated my experience as a mom and I work with my local school district. So what part of my bio doesn’t meet their standards?

I have been utilizing "Care" for a few years. I have received good jobs from great families. The experience has been pleasant and I've made good income from clients on this site. Keep up the good work! Blessings!

On July 12, 2025, I was charged $169.08 from Care.com for the annual fee. I reached out within two days to dispute the charge. I acknowledged that I had not cancelled the subscription but added the facts that the original charge was one year prior and it was done in a period of emotional trauma for my family as we were seeking care for an sudden decline and hospitalization of our father. We have not used Care.com for close to nine months and I completely forgot about the service. We received some incredible caregivers from the agency, that is not in question here. I am advocating that Care.com simply give clients the opportunity to review their needs in a fair way by giving them prior notice of the upcoming automatic withdrawal. The representative states that their policy is in the "best way for our customers to find and manage their care needs". Are they saying that they are holding their customers hostage in that they believe they are the only ones who can provide the services that they know their clients need? This seems monopolistic, assuming and absolutely not in the best interests for families who are already challenged with the daily lives of caregiving. Their current policy is more in line with subscription models that sneakily hope that their subscribers will not see the charge on their statements, increasing the bottom line of the organization. This is in the best interests of Care.com, NOT their clients. Transparent, honorable organizations always notify customers of upcoming transactions.

've been using Care.com since 2014 to offer my house cleaning services, and it has been a great experience. The platform makes it easy to connect with families looking for help and truly prioritizes safety for both clients and service providers. When I first went to the site, I was inundated by phone calls from people whose profiles I viewed. That was beyond annoying. I hired cleaning people twice. The first one said she lost her check and could I please leave her another on my porch table. I did and she cashed both. The second person spent the entire(literally entire) time on her cell phone. When I mentioned it, she said her son was just expelled from school and she was speaking to the principal. She asked for her pay and told me she had to leave. Both jobs done were crap. I tried to contact care.com, but since I was using my nickname, they decided to 'ban' me from contacting them. Truly bizarre. I was hoping this was a company that could help two elderly friends. I wanted to check them out myself first due to the high risk of fraud with the elderly. I have been quite vocal about my complaints about this company. Had care.com not banned my nickname, I would have been able to speak to them personally. It's been a few years since I had this experience.
