I'm disappointed with my experience on Care.com. The fact that you have to pay a subscription fee just to message people is a significant barrier. On top of that, they charge additional fees for essential features like background checks. Worst of all, the platform is filled with flaky individuals who don't follow through, making it very difficult to actually find reliable care. I cannot recommend it.

UPDATE and Response to Care.com's reaction/reply: The bot who wrote your reply was disrespectful. I am not at all Frustrated with your company. Frustration is a feeling. People who are guided by feelings don't effectively report a company to the appropriate governmental agencies for consumer and other violations. Disrespecting women with the "hysterical" or over-emotional excuse no longer works to silence them. Care.com used to be a Great company and website. It was ruined by wrong-thinking humans with no business (or legal) sense. Saying "contact us to resolve" tells me you didn't read (or were not able to comprehend) my review - your customer service was non-existent - except for a meaningless automated response. Care.com used to be a great website and you could communicate with humans in customer service. No More -- they moved to an App and no interaction with caregivers. So Much Has Changed - and not for the better. This company is now operating a SCAM. I recently paid $35 for a renewed background check which I assumed was still an annual request. Only Weeks Later I received another mandatory background check fee in order to enter the App to look for job positions. They don't inform you of the terms of what your payment is for or how often/how much. They just require a credit card payment to enter the App with no detailed info on what your payment is for. Amateurs and Crooks are now in charge of what used to be a good company to work with. They ask for private information including birthdate, etc. but don't secure or encrypt the information and have suffered data leaks - our most private data. There are very few viable jobs posted by families when there used to be hundreds to choose from. It's now a SCAM, likely operated overseas -- do not even sign up, not worth a penny of your money. If you have been scammed, too report to state consumer affairs dept like I did.

Our grand daughter really liked Lucy a lot - they had a great time together. Lucy lives close to us, so that's another plus!

It was good to see the cv and location of those applicants. And being able to message them directly makes it easier to gauge each applicant.

I booked for 8;30 am on 10/31/25 and she was a no call no show.

I loved Care.com. I was able to find a great babysitter for the time that we needed one and she was amazing. The site is easy to navigate and filter through potential candidates. However, I was not a big fan of paying for some basic services like messaging the sitters.

Great customer service

As soon as the sitter accepted the job, she ghosted. She never reached out to the multiple messages sent. She never showed up and ruined our night.
