better quality 5-6 years ago
5 yrs ago, I got a Carbon2Cobalt catalog in my mailbox and was impressed by the beautiful photos of men's clothing. I purchased 2 men's long sleeved shirts to be used as Christmas gifts and had them delivered to me so that I could inspect the shirts before wrapping for Christmas. The fabric and quality was very good 5 yrs ago and the shirts made very nice gifts, indeed. I normally wouldn't have spent $89-$120 on a men's shirt but when I saw the quality, it seemed worth it. Cut to today, October 2026. I bought a shirt as a surprise gift for my husband and when the package arrived, I was certain that the wrong item had been shipped to me because the shirt looked absolutely nothing like the catalog photo. What I "thought" I was buying for $120 looked like a 2 layer long sleeved shirt for the fall. In the catalog photo, it "looked" like it had a corduroy lining. What I received was a shirt with literally fabric that I could see through and no corduroy lining at all. In fact, it looked like a cheap flannel shirt I could have purchased at Walmart. I was furious and returned the shirt to Carbon2Cobalt and vowed to not shop there again. Based on the inferior fabric and appearance of the shirt I received, I no longer think the company sells quality clothing. For me, $120 is a lot of money for a casual men's shirt and it better be pretty amazing for that money. I no longer find Carbon2Cobalt dependable for quality.
