Locking mechanism won't open
Locking mechanism won't open. This is crap and now I have to find someone to drill it. Changed the batteries and everything. Not good when you need to open it.

Had my Cannon Scout for about 5 years. When the battery died I changed it and have not been able to get into the safe. I called customer service which offered to send out new control panel for free. Great, but I need to hire a locksmith to drill into the safe and get in before the new keypad will work. This is at my expense. I called and also emailed company to no avail. Obviously the digital system is junk and you may end up with a 650 pound paper weight. What good is a warranty if the customer must pay the expensive fee of hiring a locksmith?

My dad was a cannon safe dealer. He bought one for himself after owning a Liberty safe for years and years. After less than 4 months the electronic keypad stopped working. He has been calling Cannon for help for 3 weeks. They say they will help, but have not. He still can’t get any of his guns or ammo out of it. Cannon’s guarantee is not honored, and he will never own or sell another Cannon safe. My husband owns 3, and we will be replacing them with Liberty safes. They are much more expensive, but Liberty honors their guarantees, and takes care of their customers. Cannon does not. I couldn’t be more disappointed.

Inferior keypad that will fail within two years. I bought my safe from Costco two years ago. A few months ago the passcode had to be enetered twice in order for the safe to be opened. I thought it was the battery so I replaced it as instructed. The keypad still was doing the same thing. Then finally the door would not open. I needed to get some documents out of the safe but was unable to do so. It was the weekend so I called a lock smith company to open the safe. The safe company arrived and I was told that this is a common problem with Cannon. The locks usually fail within two years. The safe is heavy and I didn’t want to return it to Costco so I had them fix it and Change the electronic keypad. Total cost was $194. I called Costco and they wanted the safe back but I didn’t want to return it after I got the lock changed. Costco is trying to help me get some or all of my money back from the repair job from Cannon. Cannon has not responded in three weeks after letters were sent out by the claims division. I’m totally dissatisfied with a Cannon safe. My parents had a safe for over 20 years with no problems to their electronic lock by another company. I do not recommend Cannon.

I purchased a cannon safe model TS5934 on Friday night 10/06/2017. This safe had an electronic keypad lock installed with no backup key which I didn't think to check before purchasing the safe (my fault), I just assumed it would have a backup key or some way of getting into the safe in case the lock failed. Guess what? The lock failed not even 24 hours after purchase. Initially I thought it was the battery so I changed it out, Several hours later lock failed again and I couldn't get into my nice brand new safe. I called Cannon on Monday morning first thing. Their options were to either send out another keypad lock and I install it myself which is not going to happen because I'm no locksmith, or, send out a locksmith to replace the lock with the same type of lock, or take it back which would be hard since the safe is now in my basement. I offered to meet cannon half way and purchase a mechanical lock and they pay for the locksmith. They refused. Stating it would void the warranty of the safe. I said ok fine void the warranty just have a locksmith come out and put on a mechanical lock. Nope, they won't do it. I said ok if you're ok with bad reviews and unsatisfied customers fine. They had the nerve to say you can take the safe back and buy one of our other safes. I asked them why on earth would I purchase another cannon product when you won't help me with the first one I purchased? This one is going back and I will never purchase cannon again. This company sucks, customer service sucks and product sucks. Be better informed and research products before you buy.

CANNON SAFE? WHAT A JOKE! They send me a substantially smaller replacement safe (replacing my "defective safe") even after I talked, sent pictures and measurements. If I had been home I would NOT have let the delivery company even unload it! I had to hassled with Cannon for months and really back close to 2 yrs. Cannon's people "act" helpful, then get these emails that "sound like" customer service follow-up... but in the end it's been one big unprofessional, lack of follow-through, crappy experience !! PLUS the hassle jack and having to pay people to move these things.... another big hassle! Cannons word is worthless!!!
