My safe’s locking mechanism not working
My safe’s locking mechanism won’t retract and I’m locked out of my safe. I do not have a key, and I was told by your customer service representative that I’m out of luck, needing to call a locksmith to open it, which will require it to be drilled open (which for some reason is not covered under your “lifetime warranty, even though the expense is a direct result of your safe malfunctioning). You claim to not have the key number for this safe on file (even though I have the model and serial number). Other manufacturers maintain records of the appropriate key numbers to each safe model, and reissuing a new set of keys isn’t an issue with them. Your customer service rep, Lucy, was very rude to me, insinuating that this is all my fault because I don’t have the key, and that “I should’ve made sure I had the key handy,” then hanging up on me after ignoring my frustration with this situation. I obviously understand that I should have the key, but I don’t have it. I relied on YOUR safe to function properly, and it failed me. Now I’m out $500 to have a locksmith drill into this safe so I can open it, rendering it damaged permanently. I will never buy another safe manufactured by your company, and I will recommend to all stores that sell your safes to reconsider. I’m thankful that you’re the only company I’ve encountered with this poor level of “customer service.” If you continue to treat your customer’s in this fashion, leaving them dead in the water when they need your assistance, you will cease to be a going concern because other manufacturers that care for their customers will drive you out of the market. From the comments I read online, along with other reviews, I’m not the first customer that has had issues similar to this with your product. Please reconsider changing your processes for assisting your customers, because all your organization does is “shoo” them away when help is needed.
