Build.comReviews of build.com

Before you buy from Build Direct please read the reviews. I didn't but I wished I had. I purchased a Rinnai tankless water heater from Amazon "The Rinnai Store". Had I realized I was actually purchasing from Build.com I would never considered buying it. Other Build.com outlets are FaucetDirect.com, LightingDirect.com, Handlesets.com, VentingDirect.com, PullsDirect.com. Support your local businesses who have gone to the expense to invest in your community, and provided value add. There was no discount on this purchase, the price was the published retail price. I am still waiting for the order. Each day I get an updated delivery date for the next day by 9:00 pm.

I ordered a Kohler sink. The specs said it possessed a 1 1/4 inch faucet hole. When the sink arrived the sink had a 1 1/8th inch faucet hole. A 1 1/4th inch faucet does not fit 1 1/8th inch hole. Return and or refund - terrible experience. I contacted their 'chat and ask an "expert" and after the 4th person who did not know faucets and sinks had different hole sizes I gave up. Many calls - always we are too busy due to high demand, emails - none of which have been answered. I cannot get the sink replaced or my money back. I will see if I can obtain the # for their legal office or corporate headquarters.

I wish there was a way to give NO stars!!! YOu have been warned! DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS CO NO MATTER WHAT!!! I wanted to do a bath remodel and ordered everything from build.com...new facet, stopper, shower head, towel bar tub facet etc....everything new and matching. They take all your money and then weeks later tell you it will be "delayed"...I ordered on Jan. 3 and then they said delay until Feb 26....just received an email delayed unit MAY 7! They never had the stuf i ordred ...took all my money and then just left me hanging with the bath torn to pieces and waiting for the parts. THEY SUCK!!! LIARS AND CHEATS!!!

BUYER BEWARE! I was looking for a replacement plumbing part and I found it on build.com. Next to the item it states "FREE Delivery by Tuesday." However, when I added the item to the cart and went to check out they added a shipping charge. I called the company and they agreed it looks misleading but would not honor "FREE Delivery." I found the part from a different company that is HONEST about their charges. Shop around before you purchase from build.com!

these people are Liars. ordered 2 water heaters and spent an extra 400$ for expedited shipping. when they weren't shipped on time called and found out that they didn't have them in stock and they were more than happy to take my xtra 400$ with no apologies. If they say its in stock its probably a lie. if they want to charge you for expedited shipping its a lie. Go somewhere else to buy! AVOID THESE SCAMMERS!!!!

I ordered a wine fridge on 12/28/2020 and it was delivered 2/11/2021. Understood and had no issues with the long wait. BUT...when the fridge was delivered it was damaged. I called Wine Cooler Direct (who is supposedly a subsidiary of Build.com) to let them know it was damaged. they told me that they could not help me that it is now a warranty issue and that I needed to call Living Direct (another subsidiary of Build.com). I called but the recording said they were closed and only open from 10 am to 2 pm CST Monday through Friday. I called back during that time and received a recording that due to COVID they were backed up and to go to their website, then the recording hung up. I went to the Living Direct. com/service webpage and filled out the online form regarding the damaged fridge. I heard no response after 4 days, so I tried calling but continued to get the same recorded message and then the call would hang up. Tried this for a few more days and then got a response that they were closed for training (Customer Service Training hopefully). Frustrated after a week and a half I called Wine Cooler Direct again. I said what was happening and that I felt like I was being scammed out of $500. After some time on hold Keith said they would send me a replacement Fridge and that they would have UPS come pick up the damaged one at no cost. Then the next day Build.com sends me an email saying the are sending me a replacement part so I could fix the fridge myself.....Seriously? That email should have said they were sorry for the damaged shipment and that a TECH would be scheduled to come out and fix it. When I called Build.com to file a complaint about poor customer service they guy was rude and clearly could care less. Hopefully I will not have issues with the replacement fridge....if a refund with a full return would have been possible I would have taken it. BUYER BEWARE WHEN DEALING WITH BUILD.COM - WINE COOLER DIRECT - LIVING DIRECT.

Honestly, just avoid if you can. They just drop ship everything, have no relationship with the vendors they work with. I ordered a bunch of items, and every day it kept saying it was going to ship the next day. This kept happening and happening. They would "contact the warehouse" but nothing ever happened. Their customer service is horrible and you frequently have to wait on hold for over an hour to speak to someone. The "chat" system doesn't work and is useless.

Ordered a hand held shower system. Delivered quickly, however it it was the wrong color. Sent an email with pictures...no response except to say because of Covid, blah blah...I'm in the que. Waited, nothing, so I call. After being out on hold for 30 minutes I hung up, then read the reviews! The worst company and the worst customer service bar none!! They're nothing but a drop shipper! UPDATE....They finally got back to me after one full week to tell me they sent the correct one, and a return label for the wrong one.
