Go to your local Asian grocery store instead I am Asian and have lived in several cities in the US. I would normally go to the Asian grocery store for my weekly grocery. I bought Bokksu to try it out because I thought they will have a better selection compared to the Asian grocery store here in the US. After trying it out, I am very disappointed. The first box costs around $40, and there are 17 snacks in total, so around $2 each. The snacks they send are mostly the cheap snacks that you would normally buy in bulk, meaning you would normally pay $10 for 20-30 of these in Asian grocery store, but Bokksu is charging you $2 for each bag.

The boxes are so nice but the customer service is really awful. It's very sad because i wanted to continue receiving my boxes for a really long time but i was forced to cancel due to the poor customer service. I ordered for the first time in April (one subscription + an extra box on the side). In June, i still did not get anything. I understand that it's the COVID's fault and not Bokksu. Still, after 2 months the customer service was kind enough to resend a box to me and get me an extra month as well for the extra box i ordered on the side. I started receiving my boxes but I never received the first box seasons' of Japan. I was very sadden because i was expecting this box since April. They actually made a mistake and sent me 2 times the same box and no seasons' of Japan (the first box clearly written on the website). When i tried to explain the situation, it took weeks and they lied and made excuses to not do anything. Apparently they changed their mind and did not send the first box during the Covid. That's their excuse. But my friend who ordered at the same time than me received the first box. Once again they sent me twice the same box for some reason but they refused to acknowledge it. Afterwards, i connected to my account this week and i noticed that they cancelled my extra box out of the blue. They just stole my extra box because i told them I finally received my box. They are so cheap! This was the last straw and i decided to cancel my subscription.

This is a scam company. They had lost mine thing twice in a row. I had emailed with them on this. They said they send it without tracking number. A good and honest company will send the parcel with tracking number so that the thing can be tracked and insured. Even with covid-19, I basically believe that they should find a decent courier like DHL , fedex etc. All coming with tracking number. Mostly ppl review are paid to be review. They sent to paid reputed people to review. even pay a lot for advertisement. So it mean one thing they scam people for money and cover up for expenditure.

Shady business practices. I'm disappointed by this company. Like all the others who have posted low rating on this website I too have been a victim of a surprise subscription charge. I reached out to support and all I got was a canned response telling me I agreed to all of this. I cancelled my subscription 4 months ago and thought that was the end of my bokksu involvement. The other day I get a notice telling me that I have been charged. I don't understand how my sub has all of a sudden been reactivated. I did a few monthly subs and CANCELLED it 4 months ago. Now all of a sudden it has reactivated without my knowledge or consent. I don't understand how this is possible. The account options allow you to skip your sub or cancel it. Logically if you skip your next installment (I was doing monthly) it would have charged me 2 months ago instead of 4 months later. So it must not have been"skipped" but reactivated. The company basically told me well this is how your account was setup and we can't help you. They offer nothing in the way of help, support or understanding. In the middle of a pandemic when money is tight and a $60 charge I can't afford and causing me overage fees now too. I feel taken advantage of. If you are considering purchasing from this company I urge you to look at the other negative reviews posted. You will see that this is the common thread linking all of them. Don't let yourself be taken advantage of by this uncaring company :(

I bought a subscription as a gift for 6 months. I cancelled my sub over 6 months ago. I woke up today to find an email stating that I've been charged and my order will ship in a week. Well isn't this a surprise...I contact support and explain that I don't want this and that the address for the gift recipient is no longer valid. I'm told that you agreed to the terms and conditions and since my order is already being processed they can't do anything. Which is sure strange as the email says it takes a week to ship from today. So great I paid money to ship something to a random address and the company seems unwilling to assist. I've used snakku before and would highly recommend them over this company. Snakku gives you email alerts a week out before you are charged so you have time to cancel orders in advance and imo offer a better selection of items. I'm unable to remove my saved payment method from my bokksu account and they hide historical account information so I'm unable to view my sub history. How in the world was the sub skipped for 6 months and suddenly charging me again? I know this was disabled. Buyer beware.

Although my mom has enjoyed her gift of Bokksu, I never meant it to be a self renewing subscription. I swear I clicked on gift subscription, the company says otherwise. No matter. When I go and log in on the site, there is no place anywhere on the page where it says manage your subscriptions (which is what I was told when I initially complained). I have written an email to the company and hopefully they will cancel this subscription once and for all.

The content of the box is not the problem. The lousy customer service is. Everything is fine unless you need them, and then the policy is "the costumer is always wrong, we don't care". Happened twice to me so far, beware.
