First - I researched what my boat was worth and advertised it at market value - I listed the boat, I received an initial barrage of 3-5 scammers - then one lowballer - then 2 legit inquiries, the one that showed up first bought the boat - this all happened in 12 days! If your boat is not on boat trader, it's not really for sale....

One of the WORST ways to sell a boat
One of the WORST ways to sell a boat. What a MF SCAM! I had been attempting to sell a 2023 ATX Type-22 Surf boat for over 1 year. The boat was nice, really gently used. The package that I chose was the 229 option to get more pictures and views. The package pretty much guaranteed that I would get my boat sold through them. I had 0 leads. Spent too much money for garbage. I canceled my subscription and they billed me again. Dont use this company. Awful, awful awful.

We’d like to better understand what happened with the renewal you mentioned. Sellers can turn off auto-renewal directly through their Boat Trader account at any time, and once auto-renewal has been removed, the listing will not renew or be billed for another listing period. Since you mentioned that you canceled but were charged again, we’d like to understand how and when you canceled, or whether you contacted our Customer Service team for assistance. We’ve requested additional information through Trustpilot so we can locate your account, review your listing and billing history, and better understand what happened. If you can provide those details, we’d be happy to take a closer look.

Easy peasy
This was the second boat I have listed, and it went well, since I had gotten the hang of it. The guidance offered was helpful. There were some scammer inquiries, but not as bad as for cars. The buyer got a a good, serviceable boat at a reasonable price, great for both sides. Now if only the sailboat could do so well!
