I had tried to sell my boat on Marketplace for 2 years with zero luck. I was either contacted by scammers or people that wanted to knit pick a 23 year old boat. I recommend anyone selling a boat to skip Marketplace and spend the money on Boat Trader to sell your boat.

Boat Trader was easy to use. I was able to upload pictures fast. When i had a question, a customer rep was very helpful. I priced to sell and it did.

Easy upload of pictures. Boat Trader helps filter out the "bogus scammers" and everything else went smoothly. Definitely worth the money to increase visibility of your boat.

Easy to set up the sell of the product. Could have been more clear on how to hold the phone for pics. Would coat in about 3 weeks.

I was initially nervous about selling my boat given all the scams you hear about, and I was hoping for a simple, safe process. Once priced correctly, my listing received 31.9K impressions, 573 views, and 29 saves. The exposure was great! Of the 10+ people who messaged me, I suspect just over half were legitimate. I appreciate that BT blocked one person due to suspicious activity, well done! The challenge is knowing who is real, especially when so many buyers want to move the conversation to text or chat outside the platform. I made an effort to keep communications on BT until I felt confident the person was legitimate. My biggest suggestion is to help sellers better identify legitimate buyers. Could BT provide some indication that a message is from a verified or trusted user? At a minimum, clearer guidance on how to safely communicate with potential buyers would be helpful. Prep buyer on how to communicate too. After accepting an offer, I still had at least two other serious prospects who said they wanted to make offers if this sale falls through. My buyer wired a $6,000 deposit to hold the boat until November 16, which gives me greater confidence in the transaction. Overall, so far, so good! BT delivered great exposure and promising leads. With better tools to help sellers distinguish legitimate buyers from scammers, the experience could be even better. My buyer will be getting great value for their money!
