I purchased a 28” blackstone from Costco. The top was bent at the corner and when I screwed the handle in, the screw broke into the handle. Ended up taking it back and getting the 32” blackstone and the back of the hood was dented in. I call customer service and they said it was on back order for 3-4 months. Meanwhile the hood doesn’t sit upright all the way and almost hit my husband in the head from it dropping down. Seriously disappointed in the two experiences we’ve had with Blackstone. This was supposed to be a nice birthday gift and has become a huge pain in the @$$

I bought a Blackstone gas flat top…
I bought a Blackstone gas flat top grille from a secondary store. Result: No gas flow at all. Customer Service was readily available but required me to test and disassemble the grille to test parts. Thank goodness I am mechanically inclined had the tools and can diagnose mechanical issues. After sweating in 95degree heat, grill did not work. Blackstone had experience with similar issues as the sing-song customer service lady knew exactly where to look.
Results: Ordered a brand new burner unit! WOW what service right? (However I have to disassemble and reinstall at my time and expense)
Surprise! Next day email: “Part is Out-of-Stock with no indication when I might have a working grille this year.

I bought the 2417 blackstone...half…
I bought the 2417 blackstone...half pellet grill and 22" flat top. Bought it 2 months ago brand new and the smoker already quit working. Called tech support and they were zero help. If blackstone fixes the issue and replaces this $1500 grill that only lasted 2 months then ill happily delete this comment and give them another try otherwise I wont be recommending blackstone to anyone and ill even go as far as talking others out of buying blackstone....built to fail

Don’t buy blackstone!! Ozark trail doesn’t fall apart
I will never buy anything that is made or even says blackstone on it. I purchased a camping griddle with the burner on the side. Worst ever!!!!! Only had it two months and the handle broke. Next time we used it the screws that hold the lid on all came out. On the griddle side one side gets hotter than the other. My husband knew I wanted a griddle press yea well he bought a blackstone one and we used it one time and guess what the screw came out of one end of the handle.

poor customer service
I purchased a 36grill almost a year ago. i noticed in assembly it didn't have the heat shield. i called the company and they said they would send it out. from August of last year to May 23 of this year I still havent received it. I have multiple emails from them and multiple promises... burning results. as a grill it works fine. buy it, but know ahead of time they will not take care of issues!!!

Good Cooking, Bad Repair
The cooking process is good. This is obviously different than a gas grill, but there is a lot of versatility. A bit of a learning curve, but the food turns out as good as the chef making it.
My gripe relates to changing the starter. Changing the little box is not too bad, but changing out the wires involves a near-complete disassembly of the grill. It's as though they made it intentionally difficult to change the box and the ignition wires. The first thing you have to do is disconnect the tank and move it out of the way so the shelf drops down. After you drop the shelf, you have to completely remove the shelf from each side. After you do that, you have to pull off the burner knobs and then remove the brackets that hold the knobs in place. Only after that can you take off the faceplate and actually access the starter box and the wires.
But even before I got that far, I found that the pieces that are mounted next to the burner are very difficult to remove. The screw and nut that holds them in place are very close to the ceramic piece on the starter, and you cannot easily get to them with a screwdriver or a box wrench. You have to hold the nut with a pair of needle nose pliers and then work with a screwdriver that is really close to the burner. I did not want to bump or dislodge the burner, so that was very difficult. But even then, the screw and nut were rusted, and they simply froze in place. There was not enough room to really turn the screwdriver, and 2 of the screws stripped in the process. The only way to remove them would have been with a hacksaw. Again, I did not want to damage the burner tubes or displace them.
So before I got any further on the process, I looked on Amazon and found extra long fire starters of various types. You know - those butane lighters with the long tube. I bought those instead so I can simply light the grill by hand. I removed what I could of the starter assembly, cut the cables, and pulled a lot of that hardware out. Into the trash it went. One nice thing about this grill is that the burners do not clog because no food falls down onto them. Thus, I am going to light the burners on the outside with a handheld lighter and then just turn on the 2 burners in the middle. Once enough gas flows, they will light. Not ideal, but spending $20 for long lighters beats the heck out of a 3 – 4 hour project with endless frustration.
This really should have been thought through a little better. The cooktop will obviously outlast all of us. The burners will not clog because no grease is raining down on them. But the starter is a part that needs to be replaced regularly. It is known to fail based on the mechanical nature of it. No problem there; the replacement kit was about $20. But actually getting to the starter box and connecting up the wires was extremely difficult. Far worse than it had to be. So difficult, I opted for a different approach. They need to go back to the drawing board to simplify the design.

I wanted to share some concerns…
I wanted to share some concerns regarding our ongoing collaboration over the past several days. Unfortunately, I’ve experienced a recurring issue with scheduling. The POC person I’ve been working with has repeatedly canceled calls and rescheduled meetings without providing clear timelines for when these sessions will actually take place. This has led to significant delays, and it’s become increasingly difficult to make any meaningful progress. At this point, it feels like there is a lack of commitment to meeting the deadlines, and the repeated changes are starting to create confusion and bad experience.
I believe open communication and respect for scheduled commitments are crucial to ensuring we can move forward efficiently. I would greatly appreciate it if we could establish a firm timeline and clearer expectations for upcoming meetings, to avoid any further disruptions and ensure smoother progress.
