Flawless execution of ecommerce. Couldn't be more simple. Far more features than one could possibly need. Excellent support when needed as well.

Bigcommerce is an impressive Cart and CMS system. It plays nice with designers and developers allowing almost total control of the design and feel of ones ecommerce website. It's simple to use and has one of the best uptime track records. Only improvement would be improving email design and develop capabilities, otherwise this would be 5 stars.

Very easy platform to build on. If you do have a question, their tech support is second to none.

1 Star as they have had an issue with code and wont give a deadline for repairs and will only say its being looked at. meanwhile we have a store down and are on the cusp of losing clients.

So far, one of the best experiences in terms of payment fees (aka: none, just a monthly fee, based on revenue) for startups. Cheaper in fees than some other platforms, but the extensions leave a bit to be desired and can add up to be a lot more than going with a competitor. Do your math before you sign up!!! Some pretty good integrations/extensions, and some terrible ones that just don't work well (probably not their fault, but basic things like cross-selling items or "buy a and b together to get xx discount" should be part of the coupon/discount code algorithms' native functionality, not some 3rd party thing that you have to custom code into your shop and it breaks every time your shop is updated through the template developer). Initially ran into some awful customer service issues, but have no other alternative for something SaaS at the moment that is cheaper. Planning to switch away as soon as it's cost-efficient. //THE BAD// Very unrelenting business model in terms of promised features turning out to be options which are only available to large enterprises (eg: "contact us for a quote", price tier - ya, alright then). For example, B2B/wholesale pricing being planned (as I read before investing time into developing our shop with BigCommerce) was one of the primary reasons I chose BC for my small B2B and B2C operation. Having a singular eCommerce platform for both B2C and B2B with custom pricelists and stuff would be fantastic!!! When the feature was finally released, it turns out that the functionality is only available to huge enterprises paying massive monthly fees (a totally unique pricing tier compared to the other levels they offer). Kind of a joke to be honest, gate-keeping smaller businesses from having access to B2B sales portals. When I say that, of course I realise that SaaS features available increase with the amount of fee you pay, however, I would be plenty happy to pay a nominal fixed fee on top of the usual monthly fees to have access to a particular feature. But this is not an option. Therefore, it is gatekeeping features to specific clientele. If I were to immediately move the B2B revenue (6 figures a year) over to BigCommerce, it would already bump our store up to the higher pricing tiers (B2C volume here is much lower, we're mostly B2B), but nowhere near Enterprise level or whatever they call it that makes you eligible for the B2B feature sets. Meh. Will move on to another platform as soon as I've got the time to implement something of my own or a more suitable option comes up. TLDR: it's cheaper to host elsewhere for modern B2B sales channels/portals, and pay hundreds a month in inventory management/sales software that integrates with it instead. That's what I'm doing for B2B. Ah well, BigCommerce either doesn't see the missed opportunity in revenue, or they don't care about obtaining customers with some B2B and B2C functionality who aren't 10M$+/yr companies.
