Sometimes it’s worth spending a little more
Let me start by saying a lot of this is my own fault because I just assumed this would be just like my original hot tub cover from the manufacturer. I went with this because it came to a couple hundred less but in retrospect, I should have just ordered the original. 1. The covering is thinner material then my original top. You can upgrade that. 2. The insulation is just Styrofoam, wrapped in thick clear plastic and is supported by a mesh. My original top had mylar film against the hot tub side. 3. This comes to you disassembled and assembly is not as easy as in their video. My wife definitely could not do it and it took some persuasion on my part. The plastic ripped on one corner, and they told me to use plastic shipping tape to fix it. Doesn’t seem like it will last in a covered hot tub but I’m not an expert. 4. My original top was heavy duty. I have two 55 lbs dogs that lay on my hot tub cover, and it supports them no problem. I ordered this one because it was rated at 400 lbs static. They said my dogs laying on it would break it. 5. There is no return policy. If you do decide to go with these guys, you might win a $100 Amazon card if you write a review. The staff is very nice and responsive. They let you know when the top is be produced and shipped. In my case, I tried to save a couple bucks, but it didn’t work out. I suggest you contact where you got your hot tub to see how much a replacement top would cost. Sometimes it’s worth paying a little more to get something you know works.

We are surprised by your "review". It is really more of a "worry list" than an actual review of performance over time. Below we shall address your comments individually. 1. Do not be misled by vinyl thickness, as that is only one of the determining factors in vinyl longevity and wear. 2. All covers are made with EPS foam. Without knowing the foam density and thickness of your previous cover, it is impossible to compare it's strength with ours.
