Patient
Untrustworthy
The nurse practitioner administered the flu test incorrectly. He only swabbed the tip of my nose and it came up negative. I had never had one administered before so I wasn't aware that he had done it incorrectly. The next day, my health declined so rapidly that I went to my general practitioner for additional help. Another flu test was administered where the swab was inserted deep into my nasal cavity and the results came back positive. BetterMed was extremely expensive and they did nothing to hep me. I was prescribed a cough supplement and an inhaler. I had a chest Xray and flu test. All of those services plus the visit itself resulted in a bill over $400 for zero help. I needed Tamiflu and I needed it within the first few days of the flu to be effective. Overall, I am extremely disappointed in BetterMed and certainly do not have over $400 laying around to be spent on nothing. As my General Practitioner said, she doesn’t trust BetterMed and wanted to perform a second flu test. I am so relieved she did! She encouraged me in the future to call the On-call doctor at her practice so I can receive proper help without exorbitant cost. I no longer trust BetterMed either.
