I lost my son in 2020 I have severe PTSD DEPRESSION ANXIETY AND GRIEF THAT IS INTOLERABLE. I reached out to Better Help instantly $240 dollars was taken. My 1st session no one bothered to call, my 2nd session no one bothered to call I received over 6 computer generated emails asking how my sessions went with both appointments even though I've send numerous emails stating the Therapist never called. No one in this highly recommended company will even return my emails. Basically I've paid $240 to worsen my already mental state on mind. Scaming a mentally ill person is bad enough but when the company specializes in Helping WITH DEPRESSION ANXIETY PTSD AND SEVERE GRIEF disheartening with no social conscience and lack of impathy which is the exact definition of a SOCIOPATH. 20,000 licensed Therapist they advertise and no one has seen my emails? PISSED OFF AND PISSED ON !!!

I tried 3 therapists and none of them were up to my standards. #1 only made vague broad statements and failed to give me clear answers that suited my situation. #2 was eager to help, but it was at a superficial level and didn't help me dive into deeper issues. #3 cancelled or even failed to show up for my sessions without informing me in advance many times. His style was also like #2 - just scratch the surface of the issue. If you are looking for a serious therapy, BetterHelp is not what you need.

Terrible. Their review system is flawed. I wrote a negative review about my last counselor and they didn't even publish it!!! How are we supposed to know if a counselor is a good fit for us if they only publish positive reviews on their platform. Smh...

Worst therapy experience ever

If you're looking for someone to listen to everyday concerns like job stress or a bad day, then BetterHelp is good for you. But don't use it if you're looking for any significant therapy for serious issues like trauma. The therapist I was matched with only spent 30 minutes each week in a call. That's barely enough to scratch the surface of anything significant. She often asked me questions that I had already written. It was fairly obvious that she wasn't even reading what I wrote. Her questions and responses were shallow and unhelpful. She sent me a paper on trauma that I could have found with a Google search. In fact, I've read books that contained far more useful information than she had. She knew next to nothing about the type of trauma and abuse I experienced. She had no real insight on how others cope with what I've been through. This is a waste of money.

The therapist don’t actually read your bio and it’s almost as if it is more than one person replying because they are surface and provide no tools or ideas on how to help. They just keep asking questions.

This was the waste of time and money!! Not only their therapists are not able to help in any way, when you want switch to someone else the app just takes forever to load and then they automatically assign a different therapist not of your choice. After writing about my struggles and sharing my personal feelings, the answer I got was : “Sounds like you have a lot on your plate “. Another therapist: “I see you mentioned you married, is your husband supportive?” I literally was having panic attacks and needed some practical advice and support but all I got is some random answer in the chat. And they charge me $320!! For what? I trying to dispute this charge, my friends are better therapists then any of this careless unfit for the job. This experience just added more anxiety and frustration instead of helping.

Tried two therapists in first week. UTTER FAIL: - Both therapists tried to give me "one for all" solutions and too quickly - They didn´t ask, when they didn´t understand something, instead they just made their own assumptions and tried to tell me what to do, based on their fabricated assumptions - Second one managed to prevent me from telling my story midway, because I indicated I won´t continue after first month - Tried to force me into a group when I explicitly wrote I´m interested in one on one resolving trauma - Second one ignored everything I wrote, didn´t ask single question, and at the end she tried to gaslight me by telling me I didn´t understand the system - that she starts working with people only after a real time call - she didn´t tell me this upfront, only as a very last message after I wrote to her that I see she changed her manner when I wrote that I won´t continue after the first month - It is written in the description that my therapy STARTS THE MOMENT I PAID, not only after a call - It is written in the description that I CHOOSE THE PREFFERED TYPE OF COMMUNICATION, either it is messages, video, call - It is world wide app, different time zones, so according to the second therapist I NEED TO DISRUPT MY SLEEPING HABITS just so she can start work with me ? - Keep in mind she came up with this concoct rule only as I wrote to her that I see she cares only about money (with different words), and as a very LAST message - Currently they are trying to GHOST ME WHEN I´M WAITING FOR REFUND *Edit 1: - The first one was not better in any way neither, basically told me to forget, don´t think about it and move on etc. - I´ve honestly found more relatable human stories by random google research (various blogs) - But the second one tried to upright covertly manipulate me, so I came looking for a therapy just to be treated the exact same way - as the things I´m seeking healing from - You´ve got to be kidding me, adding to that they now don´t offer free trials, so you need to pay one month worth upfront - What the heck is wrong with you in the betterhelp crew ? Are you literally crazy ? *Edit 2: They paid the refund (after some spamming from my side) and allegedly are looking into the two therapists. But I really wanted to resolve my traumas and this experience shocked me and disrupted even my work for some time.
