I needed some serious help
I needed some serious help. My life was spiraling out of control and I felt as though I was locked in a cage. I tried searching for teletherapy, e-therapy, online therapy, and even tried to make appointments with local therapist. Not only would the not take my insurance but we’re asking for over $300 for an office visit or not appointments were available for the next three months. I stumbled upon Better Help from a website and looked them up. I took a chance, filled out the profile, applied for a scholarship and was matched with a therapist. I immediately gave her my entire mental health history, medications I had taken and what was currently going on. I love being able to text my therapist any time and get a timely response back. Once a week we schedule phone talks so we can go into deep discussions. What I liked best is I didn’t have to wait for an appointment, I didn’t have to pay $$$ upfront, I got the help I need, recommendations, and little assignments to help me get better. Four months later I’m proud to say I’m a new person. My therapist was beyond excited just as I was with the progress I made. I know at anytime I could probably fall back but we keep talking even though I’m not longer in that dark place. What’s even better is she’s help my daughter and my husband (who is a veteran with PTSD). Better Help also has live webnairs on different topics where you can get additional advice from other therapist. It’s an amazing service and I highly recommend using it to everyone feeling trapped and locked.
