I have been struggling with anxiety and depression on and off for about 8 years. More recently, I found myself frequently contemplating suicide, despite seeing a private and face to face CBT therapist. In a somewhat last ditch attempt, i decided to try BetterHelp as a more flexible and "out of hours" service that wouldn't leave me feeling like the therapist is just watching the clock and waiting for the pay cheques. Despite being entitled to free counselling through my work, I even took the 'risk' of incuring the cost of BetterHelp by myself. I was surprised that it is actually very affordable, especially if you qualify for the financial aid. Since being paired with my counsellor we have exchanged a few lengthy messages and had a long phone call - all on my own terms. I can honestly say that the quality and detail with which my therapist listens, advises and discusses with me, has truly made a profound difference to my life. Aside from the content that we discuss, her calibre as a therapist and the genuine care and concern I feel she has for me, I feel most assured by the fact that I am now never without someone to support me... It's reassuring and it gives me hope. I have only been using BetterHelp for 3 weeks, yet I feel more positive than I have in over a year.

I was sceptical about online counselling but Better Health services blew me away. A good counselling at the comfort of your own home. A counseller you could send messages to between session, what else you could ask for! I was comparing Better Health with a real life face to face local counselling and I decided that Better offers excellent value for money and I never regret that decision. Highly recommended.

That’s fantastic. They’ve clearly put effort into screening who they hire and they let you screen who will help you. This service would be really really useful to rural clients, jobs with erratic hours, and the home bound.

Excellent service provided by my counselor. She was knowledgeable and friendly, and it has always been a good experience to work with and be helped by her. She has been a literal life saver at points throughout my journey and I would give her more than 5 stars if possible. Definitely recommend BetterHelp. They know what they're doing.

I am so, so grateful for this app and the counselor that works with me through it. I'm a person who travels a lot, so not being restricted to seeing my main counselor in a specific city is so nice, and it is so nice to be able to message my counselor through this app whenever I want if I have a question or just want to say something. The scheduling system is so easy to use, and it is great that the app securely saves your messages, because my counselor in particular always sends me some notes from each session and next steps for the next session, and it is so nice to be able to look back at them. All in all, I would highly recommend this app. I've grown so much as a person since utilizing it.
