The software is buggy, and they will assign you a therapist who has no overlapping timezones with you. Seriously, i can do a session from 10pm to 6am!? I think the only therapists on here are ones who couldn't get clients locally or on their own.

I had a great connection with my therapist on BH and after a couple months of sessions felt a level of trust that I was not expecting, as I was very nervous starting therapy for the first time. She was very good at identifying the underlying issues, thoughts, and concerns I was having based on the information I told her. Unfortunately she ended up ghosting me and after two weeks I still have not received a single message or explanation from her as to what happened. I showed up for my weekly session as usual, waited in the video room, messaged her while I waited to ask if we were still on, again after I left the session, and for a few days following the incident, but never heard from her again. This has been an extremely stressful, unprofessional, and disappointing situation. I've even been searching obituaries as I never could have seen this coming from her since she seemed so engaged in our conversations and even gave herself homework to do to prep for upcoming sessions. All I can say is thank god I wasn’t suffering from abandonment issues, although I feel like I am now. I reached out to BH immediately following the session and within 24 hours received a reply offering to add a week onto my membership and to look deeper into what happened. After some back and forth they ended up offering to add a second week onto my account and to personally help me find a new therapist, since it seemed like they couldn't manage to get a reply from her either. Honestly, this has left me hesitant. Now that I've gone through this mess I see it's not so uncommon with BH and I would prefer not to waste any more of my time and money. The idea of starting over with someone new is overwhelming and adding more stress to my life, the very thing I was trying to fix by joining BH. I appreciate the free weeks they provided, but if I agree to let them help match me to a new therapist I'm going to be stuck in the same cycle and unable to leave since each month is paid for up front. I'm not sure what I'm going to do.

You took away my favorite therapist because of your shotty policies and failure to properly represent the correct therapist licensing. Not only have I heard horrendous scandalous things about how you treat the providers working and NOT working with you that you decide to display without their consent in some cases. But you employ some of the worst therapists on the platform considering I’ve heard plenty stories from my peers who have tried this out and didn’t get as lucky as I did with my first match on here. AND THEN on top of it all, You’re poorly run company has overcharged me significantly. Due to my therapist’s schedule I only got 2 sessions a month, and this month I only got one yet I STILL paid over $220 every time. There is no guarantee I was going to receive all 4 sessions for those months and I still got billed monthly and not based on the number of sessions. This is why I’m going back to in person therapy. You overcharge clients and screw over good therapists and leave the terrible uncaring ones behind.

Wasn’t assigned a therapist but instead a social worker. Social worker told me to leave the platform and work with them “for free” offline. Social worker then cancelled my second session same day after failing to send me the assessments they referenced in our initial 20 minute call that I paid $80 for. Awful experience.

went to the therapist for help with addiction i was struggling with . i was using 2 -3 times a week when nobody was gone but wanted to stop and felt like it would do good to talk about it . she told me i was safe i could talk about with her that she knew i was a good mom and def not neglecting my kids which i was not at all. she turned right around and called cps on not just me but my husband as well for neglect. she even went as far as to accidentally sending me the message from her calling cps to me i asked her about and she told me wrong message please disregard. that was her chance to be upfront and honest instead she chose to lie to me luckily the worker who came out,saw that my kids were far from neglected ...by far and said she was really sorry this was handled the way it was . that she commends me for being brave enough to get help...she gave me some really good referrals and said she was closing the case . the social worker was ten times more help then this lady

I originally wanted to cancel my membership, made this request and instead got my eligibility refunded plus 3 days free, and was told a therapist was waiting. There was not. Eventually found a therapist who was way off my schedule so I picked a new one, who refused to help because one of my issues was OCD, and she didn't feel like she was experienced (understandable). At that point I made another request for my refund. That was simply ignored. So I began therapy with betterhelp feeling guilty - my therapist cancelled my first session because she couldn't call me, despite my only preference being live chat. In the first session I eventually had she asked me too many questions at once and I had very little time to speak before she got concerned. Immediately it was over and I was recommended 5 minute meditation every morning for OCD, which seems very little considering this is a severe anxiety disorder. The next session we began CBT, which is known to be harmful for those who suffer from OCD. Randomly, my therapist sent me messages like "thank you:)" "no problem" with no context or explanation at 12-3am. I also had to initiate the therapy myself even though it says on the terms I will be guided. My 2nd session included sheets of CBT which I noticed were causing me a lot of stress due to the therapy not mixing with my disorder. Yesterday was supposed to be my last session. Instead, my therapist did not answer me at all. Apparently it was a notification problem, however I don't see why 2 minutes late is enough time to judge I would not be there. Just as I went to message my therapist today to book my last session, I was told to renew my membership. So the three days weren't included in the end either. Honestly wish I could have my money back. My private therapist offered 4 hour sessions for £200. 2 hours for £180 is not cheap for young people like me. £108 for me wasn't worth it, either. I got paid to be told to do five minute meditation every morning in the end.

The therapist I was matched with did not help me. She listened to everything I said but rarely had any insight for me. I would tell her about the abusive relationship I was in and she would tell me to try deep breathing. I didn’t get any more out of this therapy than I could’ve gotten by talking to a friend.

I cancelled the service on the same day and asked for a refund immediately as they love to charge upfront when they can't even match you with a therapist with the skills you required and requested!!! I have sent three emails demanding a refund and NO I DON'T WANT TO USE YOUR SERVICES FOR THIS MONTH I DON'T WANT TO USE THEM AT ALL AND JUST WANT A REFUND ASAP. next step I'll be reportING them to the ombudsman! Terrible SERVICE and expensive!!!
