I was matched with multiple therapists cutting their therapy session short. My latest therapist only was great on the initial session and ever since didn’t really care about my goal or intentions. I felt really unwell and cancelled; I also learned how they have very unethical ways of (that is how it feels, this is my subjective opinion) on recruiting people, they barely pay the therapists etc.

I just noticed that they took an incredible amount of $260 from my credit card. I never authorized this payment. On the contrary, I wanted to cancel my account because I previously had an account and I noticed that they still have my credit card details. I never confirmed this payment. I never wanted to pay such an amount for their services. They never even asked me if they could charge this amount from my credit card. I take this as theft on their part and I intend to report this to my bank. If I did not look at my bank. account today I would not even know that they took my money!

The therapist was great, but betterhelp.com has some shady business practices. I told them I did NOT want to renew my subscription at $288 (already paid my initial $288) because I was done with the program. The billed my card anyway which put me in the negative. I called betterhelp.com to get the charges cancelled and they told me a team member would get back. I called my bank and they are taking care of it.

I had 2 therapists with each a couple of sessions. I was surprised at their lack of professionalism and lack of EQ. The first one looked surprised and mentioned several times that I have an accent. I live and work on London for 7 years, rarely I had an instance when someone wouldn't understand me, needless to say I work on a professional environment.I let it slide through but she kept going back to it. She also called me dismissive and then said that's why people don't like me, then surprised I asked how she got to that conclusion she said that we run out of time. This particular one also couldn't be bothered to listen to me and instead she made me watch a reality TV show (MAFS) Australia and then we'll discuss it in sessions. We have done so, at one point she got annoyed that I didn't have time to watch too much of it (despite me being busy and struggling with long term insomnia). Speaking about bespoke support... The second didn't take any notes, and would not guide me at all. She said that her clients usually talk and I'm too quiet. Needless to say I express in my first session several life events that affected me and was really struggling at the time. I won't be using the app ever again.

I used Betterhelp services from May to October last year and I had a pretty negative experience. Having now been in therapy with a reliable and professional therapist, it made me realize how terrible the support I received was. My counseling sessions were meant to be 30min but hardly ever lasted more than 20min. My therapist was always late or there were frequently network issues that would cut the call or affect it, so most of my session averages 15min. I requested video calls. I hardly got any. When I did the therapist was lying on her sofa. I mostly got calls from very noisy environment. My therapist hardly took any notes. On a number of session she asked me again the same questions and asked to repeat very traumatic episodes over and over, which was extremely traumatizing in itself. After a few months I decided to ask to change therapist. They don’t seem to have many UK based therapists and I failed to find one I could connect with. The one the betterhelp team recommends unfortunately failed to turn up on time for the appointments. For this reason I decided to end my subscription. Overall I wouldn’t recommend betterhelp. It is really saddening the amount of promo and marketing they are getting. If you go ahead and choose their services, please always make sure to have consultation first and ask your therapist questions on how the sessions are going to conducted. If you feel the service provided is not up to standard please flag it up immediately.

I have made a complaint with better help as I signed up for membership and but had second thoughts because it was too expensive for me and didn't have my first therapy session but you never refunded my card . This is a lack of integrity to take people's money and not refund them when they have cancelled and haven't had their first therapy session. Awaiting your response .

I never used the service. At no point in the subscription process was the initial fee and subsequent fee structure clearly explained. When I saw that the company billed an upfront $320, I immediately canceled the subscription and counseling session. They clearly understood, at the time, that the account was to be cleared because they reimbursed the $320 quickly. Then, every two weeks, my PayPal account t was being charged $80. I called after the first charge and was in contact with a call center representative who could only take a message and forward it with the claim that I would receive a response within 1-2 business days. I never received a response, but they didn't actually respond when I requested the $320 refund, so I mistakenly assumed it would be taken care of. 2 weeks later, I get another $80 charge. Again, my only contact with the organization was through the call center. I called, waited 2 days, and again, there was no response. So, I called again. After about the 4th time calling, I asked to be put through to someone within betterhelp who could actually handle the issue. There was no number provided that didn't go directly back to the call center. I checked for a corporate number and none are displayed. I ultimately submitted a report to PayPal who blocked the company from further charging me and escalated the claim. At this point, I am waiting for betterhelp to send me a refund of $160. This is not only suspicious charging policies, but unethical given the service they're providing and the prominence of their advertising as an affordable treatment option. The company should not be allowed to maintain approval as a viable mental health organization.

Therapist I had chosen had my specific issue listed as something she was able to deal with when I actually got onto the call she wasn’t very good and clear that she had no real experience with what I was saying. She just kept saying ‘mmmmm that must be difficult’ and offered me no real tangible advice outside of the stuff that I already told her I had been attempting to do. I left the session feeling worse than when I joined and feel like it’s been a waste of my money. I still have 3 more sessions I’ve paid for so hoping the next person is a lot better.
