I am truly grateful that I finally took the leap to see if better help would indeed be better for me and I am so grateful I did! This resource has been essential in my healing and transformation and I'm so happy with my counselor and all the other aspects of this counseling community. I especially love the Groupinars.

I was doubtful about BetterHelp, but now I'm a true believer. The therapist with whom I matched has helped me in more ways that I could enumerate. One has so little to lose, as you can cancel your membership at any time. I highly encourage anyone and everyone to try the platform – it has the potential to empower you to make change for the better. Stay well, friends.

BetterHelp is a counseling site that I sought during the pandemic because of its social distancing. It has worked even better than I ever anticipated and provides personalized support in what can be an impersonal world. I feel that the journaling that BetterHelp prompts users to utilize really deepens the connection with your counselor.

I was skeptical about this Better help because it’s a virtual online therapy. And I’ll would always see ads of this service on Facebook and instagram. So I did research and read up on the reviews and saw that there were good review and then I found out while researching you pay out of pocket and you get to choose your therapist and if you don’t like the therapist you choose, you have the option to change therapist and if you feel like you don’t want to do therapy anymore you can cancel your subscription with out any troubles. I payed $240 every month. They only charge you for the times your going to be in session with your therapist and for me I would see her 4 times with in that month. So every week I would do a session and each session would be $60 and the total would be $240. If you’re late on the payment you don’t get charge you just won’t be able to schedule and have the services anymore until you pay your bill. I believe the only time they will charge you is when you cancel your appointment too late or when you’re not making it to your sessions on time. Better help does not take insurance. This is why I say do your own research because I didn’t know they didn’t until I did some digging about using insurance. They will only accept insurance when your therapist has to test you or a doctor and they’ll have to give you a diagnosis for you to be covered by the insurance you’re insured in and then they will have to file it on you medical record. So it’s best to just pay out of pocket so you don’t have to go through all that hassle unless you really need to be diagnosed for your circumstances. Once you have signed up and give them your first payment, they’ll give you the option to choose your therapist. What I like about this is how they give you a picture of your therapist, their name, where they’re from and the college they’ve studied and graduated from. They’ll give you all of their licenses that the therapist has study for and give you a list of those specialties that they can help you with when it comes to trauma, mentally, emotionally or, physical abuse, depression, anxiety etc and also some background about the therapist. Once I pick my therapist, the app will give a guide of how to use the app then they’ll show you how to make your first appointment. You’ll get the chance to talk to your therapist before your first session just by having a small talk and introducing yourself and telling him or her why you join better help and what do you want to work on in your sessions. Also BetterHelp does not expose you to your therapist or share your information what’s so ever. So when you do start sessions with your therapist they won’t know your name unless you are comfortable or willing to give them your name. But you can always stay Anonymous. BetterHelp will ask for your contact information but it’s not required for you to give them that information but they only ask it for your sake and for your therapist sake as well. So if you become harmful to yourself or your therapist feels they need call the police to do a wellness check they will do that and you’ll have to sign a electronic agreement about what they will do if your therapist feels you are in danger or they fear that you are going to be harmful to yourself. Also they’ll give you the number for the suicide hotline. What I like the most about better help is they give you the option to text, call or video chat with your therapist and if it’s a urgency, they have a option for you to use when you need to talk to them right away. You have the choice to schedule your own appointment that good for you, and of course they will work around you’re schedule and will always let you know if they can’t make it they’ll let you know so you can reschedule. For my experience I had a really good therapist. Her name is Ms. Yolanda. When I started I was depressed, had anxiety, angry and had other trauma issues. She gave me an assessment to see what we can work on together and then she actually gave me homework and worksheets for me to do. It did help and it made me recognized what I needed to work on then of course by talking to her about what was wrong she gave me her honesty about what I needed to do and how I needed to handle myself and that problem. I felt comfortable talking to her about my personal issues. She never made me feel a way. She very professional. I have no problems with her what so ever and I can say she help me with so much and she saved my life. So please do your research so you can have a better understanding about getting help with better help but I highly recommend them!

CARA IS ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! SHE LISTENS TO ME AND UNDERSTANDS ME. I CAME TO HER SUCH A MESS AFTER DEALING WITH SO MUCH GROWING UP AND GOING THROUGH A HORRIFIC FIRST MARRIAGE WITH MY EX-HUSBAND. I WAS STRUGGLING SO MUCH AND SHE ALWAYS HELPED ME. I WILL CONTINUE TO HAVE HER AS MY COUNSELOR! SHE ALWAYS RESPONDS TO ME AND IS ALWAYS VERY DETAILED IN EVERYTHING SHE TELLS ME. I WOULD MESSAGE HER EVERY SINGLE DAY AND SHE WOULD ALWAYS MESSAGE ME BACK AT LEAST TWICE A DAY , SO IT WAS VERY HELPFUL TO ME. ITS SO DIFFICULT TO FIND A GOOD COUNSELOR AS CARA IS. IM LOOKING FORWARD TO CONTINUING TO HAVE HER AS MY COUNSELOR!! SHE IS THE ONLY PERSON IN THIS WORLD ASIDE FROM MY CURRENT HUSBAND , WHO I HAVE BEEN ABLE TO TELL EVERYTHING TO , AND EVERYTHING THAT WEIGHS ON MY MIND. IM GRATEFUL FOR CARA AND IM LUCKY TO HAVE HER AS MY COUNSELOR!

Betterhelp/online counseling was not my idea of a good vehicle to pursue initially. Covid made it a "try-able" option. I entered with doubt & caution. The journaling, interaction with my counselor at times thru texting was a GREAT feature that has enhanced my work. The video sessions are helpful too. I would highly recommend this as a way for others to dig in & trust their way forward to enhanced personal growth & understanding. It actually opened up my experience to better meet "my needs & style of learning" by becoming MORE personal & More frequent than 1-2 visits a month in a traditional counseling session. I caught & presented issues as they happened via message & journaling. My counselor invested in "hearing & clarifying my confusion" in timely brief responses. She didn't "adopt" me. She guided & facilitated my journey in a way that enhanced my growth at my pace.

My counselor was very knowledgeable! She put me on a track to work with CBT which has been very empowering.
