These people are predators. They have you fill out an elaborate info sheet to match you with services. However completing it basically signs you up for their onslaught of predatory harassment. I was called, emailed and texted 50 times pushing these services. I suffer from clinical anxiety and depression, and the constant harassment was “triggering” to say the least. They don’t care about your mental health, they care about your money, and nothing more.

My husband signed up for one month and then cancelled but they charged BOTH him and I for the month he did use the service and have been charging me for FOUR MONTHS without an account. I have no way to contact them since I don't have an account, they have no phone number, and my husband cancelled his account so they keep sending him emails in response to our filed complaints that it's been cancelled but it keeps charging me!!!!! It's been weeks of emails and there is no one to talk to or reply to anyone. Disputing it through my credit card company now. Absolutely ridiculous for such a big company. Shameful really.

Horrible company who should not be in the field of mental health. I scheduled an appointment with the therapist they selected but could not meet for a few weeks. However they make you subscribe and charged for the first month immediately even though my appointment was not for several weeks. I immediately tried to correct this and they have no way to contact them via phone. And I ended up sending several emails. I finally got the matter corrected and my money refunded because I disputed the charge. I will never use BetterHelp for my therapy needs.

I was initially enthusiastic, because of all the great reviews online, being a health worker myself. The first time I got a (female) therapist I shared about childhood adversity and loneliness. She was unkind and straight-up advised me to hook up with anyone on social media to resolve the issue. HOW DANGEROUS! She never even addressed childhood grief which is always the underlying issue and the emotional healing process, and she was upfront rude and loveless. Being vulnerable and being advised to hook up with whosoever online to solve loneliness, what a nightmare! I complained and got another woman immediately (there goes the bonding issue) she never responded at all. Then I got another 'sorry' and another connection with a guy. He ended up feeling grandiose and intimidated. He had ZERO ABILITY to SELF_REFLECT or be humble. He had to know better to be on top and had ZERO capability to be open and vulnerable himself which is crucial for excellent therapy. He started the blame and shame game very soon to keep his power difference between us, which is not even polite and very dangerous! I checked out all together. The level of Better Help is extremely low. If you are an average person with not a lot of experience and very low self-esteem, you might NOT notice it well. But as an expert myself I have NEVER encountered such DANGEROUS, LOW, and TERRIBLE unprofessional treatment! THEY ARE JUST THIEVES stealing your time, money, or WORSE! I know great therapy is a rarity in this world but with BETTER HELP: PLEASE RUN THE OTHER WAY!!!!

The first therapist I was connected to told me she thought I was bipolar on the first and only session with her after only talking for 20 minutes (my current therapist who is amazing, finds it astonishing that she could have even got to this conclusion and BEYOND unprofessional) I had one more session with betterhelp and this therapist started talking about how COVID wasn't real and I hadn't even mentioned COVID. Horrendous experience, but please don't let it stop you from seeking therapy from recommend professionals as it is an incredibly worthwhile thing to do and has helped myself and other thrive. A really good therapist can change your life.

My email and password were comprised because you sold personal information to other companies. You have terrible / non educated / not bothered so called psychologists and are horribly expensive. My accounts got hacked because of your data leak. F u

Do not use this company! They took my money upfront and its not clear how I get it back. I thought that the process would be relaxed and gentle, I'd get to pick a therapist and have a free taster session. Nut they took £260 upfront and told me I had to talk to the therapist they pick! I feel very angry, Betterhelp are just about the £££s.

To be avoided: 1. There is no way to review the choice of “therapists until you have parted with £240. 2. When you see the list of therapists, it becomes clear that the level of professional qualification is low, to the extent that it is clear at all: the biographies are quite opaque. 3. There is no way to step back and cancel and be refunded if there is no one whom you wish to consult. Of course, BetterHelp don’t tell you that in advance.. Unsatisfactory.
