BetterHelp shared my private information with third parties against my knowledge and against my wishes. This is against the law. I have documentation to prove it. Do NOT trust this company with your mental health. Edit following reply: everybody, just Google this company and the litany of privacy violations they have committed. They informed me directly that they have been found guilty of sharing my private information with 3rd parties against my knowledge and against my wishes so their reply to my honest review is clearly untrue.

Betterhealth owns teencounseling.com. TeenCounseling.com is an outright exploitative service that preys on families in need of mental health support for their children. Charging $90 per week per child is outrageous, especially considering the lack of any affordable alternatives or flexible session frequencies. For two kids, this means a staggering $720 per month, making it utterly inaccessible for most families. Their claims about offering different plans are blatantly false. Despite their responses to reviews suggesting otherwise, they clearly state, "At this time, we do not offer a plan of this frequency, but you're certainly encouraged to apply for a discount since all members qualify. To apply, fill out the form at...". This misleading rhetoric is nothing more than a deceptive tactic to pacify dissatisfied customers. They act as though they are not the ones in control of their pricing and options, which is both insulting and dishonest. The reality is, TeenCounseling.com caters exclusively to wealthy families, completely ignoring the financial struggles of the average family. Their business model is designed to maximize profits at the expense of accessibility and affordability. If you are looking for mental health support for your children and are not among the wealthy elite, this service will leave you high and dry. Do not be fooled by their deceptive responses. TeenCounseling.com is not here to help; they are here to profit. Save your money and look for a more honest and affordable option for your family's mental health needs.

This company made contact with me to potentially work for them as a psychotherapist, the way they treat therapist’s is awful! They try and encourage therapist to take on more work to make more money which is exact opposite of ethical practice. They also kind of harassed me to work with them, I then went through a very lengthy process that didn’t seem that relevant to the role… it all felt wrong so I pulled out of working for them. All in all they felt like the anti-Christ of therapy services! If they treat therapists like that, it will reflect on the work that happens for clients, so I would never work for them.

Terrible customer service. I've followed up with 4 messages without a response. Therapists are mostly US based, and the cultural differences between the US and anywhere are significant.

Don’t bother. They wanted money before I even spoke with a person. All auto emails, they make you feel special. Fill out the original form and you will be matched with a suitable counsellor. Then the “counsellor” will drop emails into your inbox saying they want to check in. But then you download the app and to just tell them what’s wrong….? No, you have to pay for a month subscription just to send THAT response. The Company is registered in California. Please don’t send a penny. I was going to pay, before I twigged they were auto emails not from an actual person. Anyone in the UK - avoid!!! I swore I would never get scammed again and no, it doesn’t surprise me that it was a counselling service. I was even asked to score their customer service. How very American. I have no doubt that if I had paid I would have access to a counsellor. But I didn’t buy in I have found help elsewhere

I wanted to inform myself on getting help by a therapist. I have had one before and in Germany it is quite difficult to get one right now. So I thought I would try it online. At first I really liked that they asked questions on what I'm looking for getting help with as to match me with an experienced therapist. I thought I would get therapists that have experience with my toppings and that I could reach out to them and see who is going to fit and also so I maybe can learn something about them before having to work with them. But this company asks you a lot of personal and questions and also about your medical history, then you have to sign up first, then you have to pay before even knowing if you get a therapist and who it is going to be. Also they decide which therapist is going to work with you and if you don't like them you have to actively ask for a new one. Also I think it doesn't make much sense in Germany as they advertise that it is less expensive than normally but in Germany normally I don't pay anything for going to therapy... I don't pay first and then don't know what is going to happen. I want to see my options and if they are worth my money.

I came across BetterHelp online therapy. I had heard good things about it. So I signed up and paid the fee. BH had arranged an appointment for me on a particular date. When that date came, I received no phone call. Then I discovered that in order to contact customer service or the support team, there was only an email address. There wasn't even a phone number. If I'm dealing with mental health issues, I expect there to be a phone number, with someone whom I can speak with voice to voice. All good counselling services offer that. A good counselling service would want to provide an available phone number so that folks vulnerable mental health won't experience unnecessary anxiety. I have gone to therapy at different times in my life. There was always a phone number where I could contact somebody. I think it is very dangerous and harmful especially people who are struggling with severe mental health issues when there's no live person that you can talk to. I don't care if this is the 21st century. BetterHelp is clueless and I regret wasting my time andoney on their service. MY ADVICE: AVOID. A GOOD COUNSELLING SERVICE WOULD AT LEAST HAVE A 9-5 LIVE CUSTOMER SERVICE LINE.
