I wanted a refund and paid 180 but only…
I wanted a refund and paid 180 but only got 54 when I wasn’t matched with my therapist disgraceful behaviour and I’m not done until I get the full amount back

Nothing works with this service
Did not get assigned a professional. only a health coach. After three days impossible to get into their web page or app, and the first session was assigned at 07:45 in the morning. I have cancelled by subscription after only four days, a total waste of money and time.

They ask all questions while sign up
They ask all questions while sign up, then you have to pay, otherwise no step back and account can't be deleted, its a scam, avoid!

Unreliable and unprofesional -BetterHelp
I had a very frustrating experience with BetterHelp, particularly with one of the therapist. She canceled our session with a lame excuse about a "historically poor internet connection in the UAE" just 24 hours before we were scheduled. It felt like she was implying everyone in the UAE has unreliable internet, and her suggestion to find another way to communicate was dismissive. This came across as highly unprofessional for a platform that claims to offer accessible and reliable therapy. I expected much better, and this definitely wasn’t the start I had hoped for. After seeing similar complaints on Reddit about underqualified and overworked therapists on BetterHelp, I’m even more concerned. Good luck to anyone who chooses this service or therapist!

I NOTICED THAT BOTH LOW INCOME POOR INCOME OR HIGH INCOME INCOME PAY THE SAME AMOUNT OF £180 DESPITE THE PROMOTIONAL LANGUAGE SUGGESTING A DISCOUNT FOR LOW INCOME INDIVIDUALS. THIS PRICING APPROACH CAN BE CONFUSING OR BE PERCEIVED MISLEADING . I BELIEVE TRANSPARENCY IS CRUCIAL IN MAINTAINING TRUST ESPECIALLY IN A FIELD AS SENSITIVE AS THERAPY . It's just a commercial app, not a dedicated therapy provider.
I used better health briefly two years ago for counselling and I found the councilor was projecting their similar circumstances on to me. It almost cost me my marriage. When I messaged Better Help about it recently I was told: "Your comfort and care are very important to us, and the appropriate teams are being made aware of your feedback. I understand you've decided to go in a different direction, and we respect your decision. With this said, I’m truly here to help, and please don't hesitate to reach out again with any further feedback." A stock answer after being traumatised by their councillors. This is a commercial service, not a therapy center. Contact your local mental health support center if you really need assistance. -JB

exaggerated therapist experience
I was searching for a therapist on their website and wanted to do my due diligence. I noticed that one therapist's bio stated they had seven years of professional experience. However, after checking their license with the state, I discovered they only had two years of experience. I emailed BetterHelp to inquire about this discrepancy, and they explained that therapists can count time spent as an intern as part of their experience. I responded that this shouldn’t be considered "professional experience," but my concerns were dismissed. It seems they may be misleading clients about therapists' experience to make their roster appear more qualified. Be cautious! While it may not be outright dishonest, it is certainly misleading, and for a company that desperately needs credibility, this is not a good look.

Beware beware beware, please be careful. I signed up today, feeling so low, I needed a bit of help. I went through the process and shared personal details. I got to where I'm asked to pay and give credit card info. Then decided to check trustpilot, before payment. I found that most of the positive reviews were written by people who have only ever given (1) one review! That's frequently a sign of the company managing the reviews. Or, are written like company self promotion! Then I started reading the 1 star and I'm lucky I didn't get to the end of the process... I believe a lot of these reviews are not to be trusted in Check the 1-2 star reviews and you'll find the HONEST ones. -Look on reddit for real answers too. Be careful and be aware. By the time you've filled in the form which can be emotional, it's got you in a vulnerable state of mind, so filling in your details is not safe.
