BetterHelp has been helpful in connecting me with a therapist remotely. It’s helped me handle day to day stress and see things from a different perspective. I do wish they’d accept insurance to help with finances but all in all I like it.

BetterHelp is a great resource for…
BetterHelp is a great resource for those in a smaller town that might not have proper guidance for certain demographics and/or a large quantity of Therapists.
The login process could be a bit more streamlined though; having to login in with a code sent to my phone every time I try to access BetterHelp is a bit stressful, and adds to the anxiety of trying to access help.

Much better than I'd expected!
I felt teamed with the perfect therapist, and I feel strongly that they really pay attention to your issues, when fetting started. Initially, they'd partnered me with one therapist, then changed it (to my current one), before I even had time to look deeper into how BetterHelp works. My first usage was a group chat, which gave me a good feeling of not being alone. When I first spoke with my therapist, with no confidence that BetterHelp was going to work for me, she was PERFECT!
It showed me they really pay attention to ones needs in order to help those of us who need it.
The only "downside", if I must call it that, is they charge you every week, whether you use their service or not; HOWEVER, my therapist is always available to respond in a timely matter, on unscheduled session days. I've been utilizing their service since February 2025
Highly recommended.

Great but needs more flexibility in payment
This is a great setup but I would absolutely prefer to pay session by session instead of per week in case a session can’t happen that week due to scheduling issues, etc. Instead of paying even when you don’t get to receive therapy.

I was tired of my healthcare system letting me down, so I gave this a try
I chose BetterHelp as an alternative of going through the NHS system, as I know it takes forever to see anyone. Let me tell you, I made the right decision. You can schedule appointments whenever, rearrange them, message your therapist, participate in various classes (very informative) and group classes. The list goes on and on and it is really incomparable to the standard service you get with public health care. Trust me, I know the frustration of finally getting the help you deserve via free healthcare, then being disappointed later on as you don't feel like anyone cares and they leave you hanging. You won't have to worry with this.
The membership plans also take into consideration your circumstances. Thus, if you are receiving any benefits or are unemployed, then you can purchase a membership at a good discounted price. However, it is still a bit pricey for me, which is why I haven't given the full 5 stars.
All in all, if you're tired of your healthcare system letting you down and want something that is consistent, good quality and you have a bit of cash to spare. Choose BetterHelp.
To improve:
- It would be nice that when we are in a call, we are able to minimise the call screen and look over previous messages we sent to our therapist, or just navigate the site in general whilst the call plays in a small player in the background, kinda what YouTube does, when the video continues playing in a smaller screen as your searching for what to watch next.

Although I love my therapist
Although I love my therapist, the company itself is a bit too expensive.
