Really bad website and customer service. When cancelling/pausing my membership was overcharged by their website. When asked why this was the case did not receive a response. Eventually got a refund but unlike what they say on their website they did not allow the use of their services to the end of the membership period and cancelled my last session. Would recommend looking elsewhere as this site is clearly just set up to take money and not look after its customers.

You can always see your next renewal date (while you are paying) from your Payment Settings page. If you requested a refund for the charge, our team can only provide this alongside a cancellation of services. The refund comes in lieu of further access. Once they get your credit card, they just keep charging you $400/mo. whether you receive any therapy sessions or not. No reminders to schedule your allotted 4 sessions a month. No reminders when your card will renew (for $400!) so you can schedule more or, yes, cancel. I feel like I lost $800 for ONE MEDIOCRE 45 MINUTE SESSION. Do NOT use this company--they are only in it for the money.

We do send automated emails if there is no account activity after 1-2 months to nudge you toward utilizing your membership. In any case, it sounds like you may not have reached out to our Member Success team about this, as we respond within one business day and can work with you on an extension or even a prorated refund if you'd prefer to step away from the service. You are losing access to the sessions you've already paid for, if your monthly payment is delayed. I have even lost access to the website after sending them an email to tell them that I want a refund for all the sessions I paid for and haven't got the chance to access. The schedule of my therapist did not match mine so I wasn't able to have the 4 monthly sessions I paid for during a month time. I so not recommend the website.

Apologies for any confusion, but as long as you haven't switched to a new therapist or requested the erasure of your data, you should always be able to login and review the messages exchanged with your therapist, your journal, and worksheets. If you switched therapists, you won't be able to access the messages you shared with your previous therapist(s) but we can help you access those if need be. I did not agree with all the other comments. They were proposing a test, to receive it you need to pay $6,99, I paid more than a month ago now and never receive it. I didn’t subscribe to anything and 7 days after the payment for the test, they took $29,99 again, so I send an email to complain about it and the fact that I never authorized that payment. I can’t afford it I am a student and they never replied to me again. But I cancel everything that can be done on the app and then I discovered yesterday that I had a bank withdrawal from them of $29,99 again. I send a new email but if they don’t answer me I will be forced to block my card which is really annoying. If someone has any advice, I’ll take it because I am desperate right now.

You will be charged for your first week but a therapist does not respond for about a week, so there is the first payment wasted. When they do set you up with a therapist, there is no notification or follow up. The only way that you know that you have a therapist, is by logging back in. The weekly charges are going to add up quick and will most likely not line up with how many therapy sessions you have. Betterhelp is a money grab.

We send email notifications immediately when your first therapist match is made, and for any subsequent matches made by the system if you elect to change therapists (although often times you'll get to pick your own next match). If at any time your therapist match does not have live session availability that works with your schedule, you can reach out to our Member Success team to let us know; we'll provide an extension to help allow you time to get that session booked within your billing cycle.
