Therapists are OK at best. The company is run by crooks. They will keep charging your account $400/month forever, until you cancel your credit card. They use every trick in the book to make you think you have cancelled your account, when there are still steps left. A nest of snakes. Do yourself a favor and stay away.

I have waited a few months to write this review as I wasn’t really sure how I felt. I thought maybe it was just me who ‘failed’ but it’s not me, it’s the company. I have used both better help and regain and I can say neither are bothered about you or your problems, it’s just easy money for the therapists. I went, both individually, and as part of a couple, with set issues and goals to achieve. The therapists don’t care. Weekly sessions are spent generally chit chatting and asking about your week, you never get to the issues, never given anything to work on between sessions. The therapists just come, remember who you are, ask the same questions as last time, then say see you next week. That’s it. I feel resentful for the money and time I have wasted but absolutely zero progress made either personally or in my relationship. Never again

I was pretty excited about this app and signed up for several classes while waiting to get with a therapist. Unfortunately, it literally felt like a slap in the face because the therapist leading the class on understanding Kahr values was trying to force us to say amen to everything he was saying several times. It was ironic because he was trying to explain that feelings are not facts yet he was shoving religion on us and one of the reasons that I have low self-confidence is that the religious people in my lives tell me that I’m not a good enough Christian and that’s why things aren’t perfect in my life. So, this was very damaging and now I don’t feel like I can trust to any external source for therapy. I did report and got my membership refunded, but they didn’t even apologize or explain any corrective action. I am all for religious freedom and that’s why we have a constitution, but you keep your religion within your fall walls of your home, and I’ll keep my religion within my four walls of my home. That’s one of the reasons America was even founded in the first place. Religious persecution is everywhere. there is no hate like Christian love.

I do not agree. My husband was going through something, we were charged for 2 months and his therapist never saw him. Always had an "emergency" My therapist was great. And my second therapist was great, I didn't want to re-live my trauma a third time with a third therapist. This site is a stepping stone. Great if you need a quick fix. Other than that, stay away. I am coming on the one year Angelversary of my husband's death.

There is no pay button to make it obvious that you will be charged. I wanted to use the app just to look around, see if I could find good potential CBT therapists. Upon opening the app, there was a sort of questionnaire about my preferences. I just checked a box to say that my preferred option to pay would be monthly. I clicked “next” or something like that, and then immediately received a notification by my bank that I had been charged £240! What?! Absolute sharks. You’d think that for an app aimed towards therapy they’d be less greedy about immediately taking your money from you. You’d think they would make consent important. They don’t. Disgusting. I demand a refund immediately. Who do you think you are to take people’s money like that? There’s no other word than Evil. Do not use this app. Thieves.

So to preface, I have BPD. I behave very unreasonably when people suggest I do something their way. Before our session even began my therapist almost insisted that I facetime our sessions rather than chat (my preference) and went as far as to say I may as well just talk to chatGPT. While I can appreciate the honesty it is extremely unprofessional and shows almost an intentional disregard. I have immediately cancelled any sessions and am hopeful for a refund

Better help are a con. They take extra money out of your account even after you stop and then send you automated responses pretending to be people and they dont refund you but make excuses about why. I know at least three people that had the same experience

Therapists have been unprofessional and/or unqualified. Low accountability for poor performance because being easy to switch is a main feature, like with fast fashion or designed obsolescence tech. Switching therapists wastes time and money for the patient, and lowers expenses for the corporate owners of Betterhelp. Low quality is built into their business model.
