Update to my first post: In total I paid 520,00 Euros and have only one session available to me. I then contacted support and made a post here. To my last betterhelp post, they responded only condescendingly, telling me I am confused. They also promised to get in touch with me and did not. I am in contact with my representative, the bar association and I am building a legal team to launch a class action law suit. If anyone had a similar experience, get in touch with me.

I started using therapist with Betterhelp. To start off with, I was taken aback as no sooner had I shown interest in finding a therapist when a full month's subscription was immediately taken from my account! Unfortunately I had some financial issues afterwards and had to discontinue. I advised my therapist but Betterhelp still subsequently continued to take my monthly subscription from my account leaving me in even more financial difficulty. Despite two emails, I have yet to receive a satisfactory response from them. If the purpose of using Betterhelp is to help with my mental heath, their refusal to refund me my money is only making me feel worse mentally.

One of the worst spammers. It's tricky when asked to set a date for the experience and it it 10 times a day every day. Betterhelp relies on a weakness in the Google advertising system that allows them to sponsor rather than place adds directly, thereby avoiding any attempt to stop seeing their bs. When you get bombarded with Spam, do you want to reach out and chat with the spammers? For an industry that is based around understanding people, you don't show much insight. You know what you are doing. I know what you are doing, I don't need to talk to you about it. I need someone to punish you, or at least for Google to start caring about customer experience over advertising revenue and close the loophole that Betterhelp exploint to Spam the public who have already said they don't want to see betterhelp advertising materials.

Ik dacht uit nieuwsgierigheid eens te gaan kijken op de site van Betterhelp. Na het klikken op de link kwam ik echter terecht op een Franstalige site. Sorry, maar daar is mijn Frans niet goed genoeg voor, hoor.... Na enig zoeken de site in het Engels kunnen vinden. Daar bleek echter al snel dat je de kosten voor advies volledig zelf moet betalen en je niet kunt kiezen met welke therapeut je wilt praten. Niet voor mij. Ik communiceer over dergelijke zaken toch liever in het Nederlands en de kosten zijn mij te hoog.

Pour commencer, en tant que psychologue, je trouve que l’application donne une image marchandisée de la santé mentale. Certaines fonctionnalités sont intéressantes, mais le travail thérapeutique en zoom n’est pas une bonne idée dans la mesure où les traumatismes, confessions doivent avoir une place quelque part, et c’est difficile que ce « quelque part » soit chez soit. On ne peut pas décharger dans un cabinet et s’alléger du poids de sa souffrance en rentrant. En tant qu’utilisatrice, j’ai trouvé ça mal fait. Une promesse de bénéficier toutes les semaines de thérapie alors que leurs agendas sont blindés parfois pour 3 semaines. L’accompagnement « sms » n’en est pas un, il se résume aux aspects pratiques.

My therapist is great. But this company is the biggest scam I have ever seen in my life. Taking complete advantage of people with mental health issues. Youre not made aware it is a subscription you sign up for first of all. So the 2nd month the money came through without me wanting it to. Then when I have then cancelled through the app it says I have 30 days left until I wont be able to speak to my therapist anymore when I have more than 4 sessions left. But I am going to lose sessions as if you book more than one session in 1 week because its another £20!!!! So I will lose the rest of my sessions or have to pay £20 to use the rest of my session. Absolute disgrace. So many companies like this prey on vulnerable people who need help. They don't care about our mental health, they care about getting money.

My experience started with them asking me a lot of questions, which lead to pages of information. Then they made me aware that they didn't accept my insurance, told me how much I would have to pay weekly and a page came up for my credit or debit card information. I had no other information from them at that point. I filled-out a lot of information, pages of information and gave personal information about myself, including my phone number and email address. They sent me an email welcoming me to BetterHelp and had me to setup an account, only to get to the last page and find out that they don't accept my insurance and I can't afford the weekly payments. I felt that could have all been avoided by letting me know their payment information upfront. Also on the last page (after getting all my information and welcoming me), they asked for my credit card information without giving me any information about an assigned therapist, his/her schedule or anything. I decided not to go any further with them at that point. They are listed as the number one online therapy group on at least 2 sites. I would've expected better from a #1 company. They could have explained initially what insurances they accept and/or don't accept, and explained how much their services would cost before asking for tons of information. If a person knows in advance if she can or can not afford their services, then she will know if she should move forward with trying to obtain their services or not. Then, it wouldn't have been a waste of anyone's time, effort or expectations.

I asked for a non religious therapist and was assigned someone who was not only not religious but insisted on saying a prayer about Jesus for me at the end of each session. She also spoke to me while she was driving and under these circumstances how could she give me her full attention. She also got political with me, she was Pro-Trump, she didn't believe in Covid 19 and was anti-vaccines. It was a total waste of time and money.
