The therapist I was paired with was phenomenal and moved at a good pace, and the worksheets and guidance provided were excellent and very relevant. The website and UX are a bit outdated/clunky.

Great therapists. BetterHelp gives you a lot of info on each therapist and they have a great tool to let you choose the one you need. Their video uses a lot of bandwidth and is a little glitchy, but that's the only complaint, although it is a bit disruptive in a video therapy session.

Very Good therapist. Good group sessions. Happy it's there. Have been too 6 therapists, Dr Slate the best to date

I love the features this app provides, such as an in built journal with the ability to share entries with your therapist. I also love the text functionality and my therapist only being a few clicks away. However, the video chat function definitely leaves something to be desired, and there are sometimes connectivity issues. Otherwise, I love this app!

The price is affordable with the discounts they offer for being a student, having a disability, being a veteran, or simply struggling with the Covid pandemic. It’s easy to switch therapists, if you find the one that you were paired with less than helpful for your particular needs. The phone calls in place of video are supportive for those who are camera shy like myself. This service has been very helpful during times of isolation or illness. It’s worth the price as a birthday or Christmas gift to yourself, a form of self-care that you deserve while you’re gifting others. You can use the service month to month and cancel at any time. You can pay extra for multiple meetings a week, if you’d like, or simply utilize the once a week included session. The rest is done through messaging your therapist whenever you would like with most therapists responding back to you the same or next day. My only concern is a bit of a privacy infiltration between your old therapist and new therapist when you switch, as I selected to opt-out of allowing them to transfer notes, which was not followed. It was very disappointing. If it is absolutely required, then they should not note it in a way that gives the illusion of choice. It’s problematic when trying to start off discussing lighter topics with a new therapist if they have a painted picture of your darker troubles from the last therapist’s notes on you. Otherwise, this would be a 5-star service to me.

it found Frank, good karma if nothing else.

In no way does remote/digital counseling/therapy replace in person talk therapy, it is a great tool when traditional talk therapy is unavailable. For me, I had just moved to a new area, my health insurance wasn’t active yet, and I needed to talk to someone right away. My therapist has been caring and helpful and would absolutely recommend this service to anyone that doesn’t have access (be it time restraints, financial, whatever) to in person talk therapy.
