It's frustrating that I only wanted to try out for a week but they charged £126 in one go. I contacted the team 3 times to claim my money back as I am not happy with the service they are provided and I can't afford £126 in one go. Also told them I came to get help with my stress not to add to any. But they have ignored me. ----- This is after one day that I posted on Trustpilot. I think that I need to be fair to them. They did solve my problems by switching my subscription to weekly billed and I am waiting for a refund. Let's talk about the quality of the therapist after my treatment has ended.

Betterhelp does not take responsibility for anything they provide and you can read that on their website, written in fine print so it's easy to miss. However, I still believe the service can be useful and beneficial if you're lucky enough to be matched with someone who actually has qualifications, even if Betterhelp does not take responsibility whether the person you talk to is qualified or not. I tried out the app to its full potential twice, and by that I mean texting a counselor almost everyday for two months on two separate occasions, two to three months apart, and both times it did work and I was matched with wonderful counselors who did actually help me get to the root of my anxiety, and showed me ways I can face it. Nevertheless, due to the fact that the service is online, it's not as personal or effective as traditional therapy and of course it did not get rid of my anxiety completely, but I have now stopped using the app after the scam scandal because even though it was somewhat working for me, I don't want to support a business that is hurting others and I will be pursuing traditional therapy instead. Try it out if you don't mind the scam scandal, you might get lucky and get matched with someone who is actually qualified, or you might not.

I stared using Betterhelp to help me with my relationship/trust issues. My counselor was nice but didn't tell me Anything I didn't already know. I ended up helping myself, using common sense and communicating openly with my partner. Luckily I used a groupon so I didn't lose any money, ( well not too much money, only $60 for the month. I spoke with customer service and they were absolutely no help. They asked me how things were going and when I told them they said " oh sounds like something you can discuss with your counselor about. " it's up to you, if you desperately need someone to talk to, go for it. Otherwise invest wisely and get real, one on one help.

The counselor they matched me with has been great - I have absolutely no complaints about the counseling experience. My problems have all been with BetterHelp itself. To start with, there was an issue with the billing process that wasn't brought to my attention until I tried to log in minutes before an appointment was supposed to start. Annoying, but it happened over 15 times. They will send me 3 emails reminding me about a live chat appointment, which I scheduled manually, but no information whatsoever about a billing error which locks me out of my counseling session. Their platform experiences frequent technical errors which make live sessions difficult or impossible at times. Privacy is also a major concern, as I've blocked HTTP requests to many insecure marketing-related services, including Facebook Connect. Responses from the company are never satisfying, but they do refund me when live appointments are affected by technical errors.

Due to tech support problems, could not participate in scheduled live session. App claims to be designed for iPhone and iPad, but works on neither. Tech support is only via email and is not prompt. Counselor could not get tech help or extend session to make up for delay.
