Better Help is a great avenue for therapy because of the virtual/online options. I have had technical issues with the platform when trying to reply to chat messages as well as technical issues when meeting with my therapist. I have reported the technical issues before.

I think that BetterHelp is necessary; the reason why I gave a 4/5 response is Only because of the robotic experience that an App or tech platform gives. Therapy is something that is very intimate; my example would be my experiences with a barber. I've divulged a lot of information with a barber, and in the end, I always *Should* feel better about myself after a cut... I'm explaining my thought process and would like to work up to achieving my goals. This is very scary as it's something I feel most people NEED but are just not willing to commit to. Becoming open or having openness isn't the easiest task, BetterHelp is very comforting and even my own therapist (I've been with the same one I've initially been offered). I know I have the option to switch, but I'm 3 sessions in and have good conversations since I've started (this also has to deal with how I am and I think I'm fairly aware of how my mind works and what I like and dislike). Everyone is different, and not everyone knows how to articulate what they actually want or why therapy would help. Do I think therapy is helpful? YES. Do I think Therapy should be accessible to everyone? YES. We all go through things and I think it being more available to people is massive, I hope that BetterHelp stays around and keeps sticking to the underlying value of Therapy. (I myself have taken Psychology in University and have learned of the benefits... That was 5 years ago, and only Now have I decided to get into it and am very thankful for the platform. It's a great experience, and I just don't know how it would be possible to promote and expand to more people without making it seem like it's just a monopolized service. (Perhaps spending more on marketing visuals through the company itself and one off experiences that people have had? Versus the cookie cutter influencers on youtube whom are clearly getting paid for those promotion through affiliate links? It comes off like it's being sold to me from a marketing stand point versus how beneficial it could be on a larger scale. I'm one month in, and I'll keep going until I don't see the value anymore, then perhaps start up again at a later time). I know this is long but just my perspective. Thanks BetterHelp.

Been using the service for ~6 months and am impressed with what they do and offer. 4-stars because I understand BetterHelp doesn’t compensate therapists’ time for no-shows and last-minute cancellations. It may seem expensive, but there is some low-income support. Besides, what is more important than your sanity?

Really love the ease of use within the platform. I also like how you can change therapists. After a year with one therapist, it was no longer working, so I opted to find another that would better suit my needs. It was super easy and I got to choose based on my specific needs. I love the journal feature and like how BetterHelp offers webinars. The only thing Id like to see changed is the subscription options. It would be cool to pay per session. But it still works fine. Also, the support team has always awesome! One of the best customer supports I've ever experienced.

I like how responsive my therapist is, she always gets back to me within 24 hours. The homework my therapist gives me is often very helpful.I appreciate that I get to attend one group session of my choice per week as well.

I appreciate this service, and have been very happy with the second therapist i worked with. I was wildly unhappy with the first therapist who was assigned to me and was glad to find a better match in the second therapist (that i found on my own). Since my first session (with the first assigned therapist) was pretty much a write off (and potentially damaging in her approach) I would havw appreciated the opportunity have an extra session added to my account. Also a big drawback for me is that my budget is such that i can only truly afford one session a month, instead of 4 - as that is all i am realistically able to afford. I am giving myself the gift of therapy at this time, but it is a massive dent on my budget to pay for 4 weeks at a time and have to do them all in a month. An alternate option for frequency of sessions would be appreciated .My first session which took place on Aug 21 would receive 1 star. my subsequent sessions with the 2nd therapist would all receive 5 stars - so the average is 4 stars for the month.

Overall a good service. Fairly easy to get going. The therapist matching could be more transparent and give more options to the client. I’m happy with my therapist but didn’t know why she was chosen or if there were other options. The software is frustrating at times and doesn’t handle poor internet. I wish it was possible to just use the phone itself, or at least power the conversation via phone like Zoom, Teams, or Google chat. If the connection is poor or the software crashes, at times it ends the session which is annoying. Otherwise it’s a great app and service and overall fairly affordable, the ability to schedule sessions in flexible manner is very nice. Also to get checkins from therapist more frequently is advantage vs in person therapists. There are also useful materials that are sent through the app I’ve found valuable to the experience. For example, a document on strategies to avoid certain issues etc.
