I appreciate the thought, but even with the reduced price and student discount, I would need to pay my entire paycheck every moth just to be able to pay for it. It's ridiculous that the only reason I can't get the help I need is because I can't afford it, nor can anyone I know. I don't know what to do anymore. This was my last resort.

POOR SERVICE
My therapist missed the appointment and didn’t even answer after a week. That’s not professional. I want my money back.
The platform itself looked very convenient since you can have easy access to a lot of helpful information about stress and anxiety control, and since it’s online help, you don’t really need to see a therapist face to face if you’re too shy, but the therapist that was assigned to me didn’t help me as I excepted, and as I said before, the therapist didn’t appear for the appontment and made me wait almost a week for a response. The sessions are not long enough for an online chat (since they tend to be slower and not as smooth as a face to face conversation), so I thought that 65 dollars per week was tooooo expensive for the poor service provided.
I’m aware that it’s mostly the therapist fault but the platform should also figure out a way to control the quality of the service that their therapists are providing.
One advice, if you’re not happy with your therapist change it right away and try a different one, maybe you’ll meet a person that fits your needs and actually helps you out.
I personally don’t recommend this platform. You don’t know how good the therapist that you’re matched with is and it might take time until you find the right one. Until that you’ll have to pay a considerable amount of money that you could just spend on a real face to face session with a counselor you can actually have in front of you, and probably will take the situation with more seriousness.

Turned me away after I had already…
Turned me away after I had already paid. Waiting on a refund, but what kind of place that's meant to help those who are struggling refuses people? If you have a lot of different problems, I wouldn't even bother- they make you feel as though you are beyond help.

Hi initially I thought this was good
Hi initially I thought this was good. The councellor definately was well trained but they were new to the platform when I started and much more available. Quite quickly we ran into technical issues and also the time taken to respond got longer, I felt they were not reading my messages very carefully and it became hard to schedule sessions. The follow up was not good to the sessions. In the end I discontinued as a deadline loomed for payment and the councellor did not reply. They then got in touch I tried again and in the first session back together with my trust still a bit fragile they decided online therapy was not correct for me. The platform then discontinued my account. I found this to be both unprofessional and unkind. Allowing a person to open up and then be shut down and left alone. In addition they promise unlimited contact but in practice it is quite limited. I would say be very careful with this service as it may not be a safe place for your inner work. I would reccommend that the therapist take on less people, so they can be less stressed and have more time. Also that if for some reason the therapy is discontinued there is a personal follow up not just a termination of contract. I am ok but it could leave someone in a very bad space and I did feel a bit abandoned as I had opened up emotionally.

Bad experience with a BetterHelp counsellor :(
Here is my Review for BetterHelp online counselling services:
Use with caution. Not all counsellors are competent; hence you might end up paying more than going to see a one-on-one counsellor.
I just ended my one month subscription with BetterHelp and ended up frustrated at the counsellor and my issue unresolved.
Why frustration?
1) I sought counselling for my specific procrastination and resistance issue.
2) From the onset, it seems to be about the counsellor rather than my issue ie. I received about 1-2 page length document about the counsellor’s background, credentials, success stories. Fair enough. And then there was content about stress, anxiety and depression. For procrastination "more about that later..... "
3) The counsellor imposes their views and opinions and generalizes my issue lumping them as stress and anxiety.
4) The counsellor uses a lot of auto-suggestion in communication to me that I am under stress. I received numerous unsolicited emails every few days about my stress. Although on first glance, it seems that the counsellor is concerned and caring with these kind messages, but however after 1-2 weeks, I noticed I got the exact same copy + paste message.
In all my communication with the counsellor I have never mentioned that I am under any stress or anxiety or depression. I sought counselling for procrastination and resistance issue.
I was given content & suggestion on how to deal with general stress related problems but no reference or relationship to procrastination. Of course, these tips are useful, but not helpful to my specific issue.
Having said that who doesn’t at some point in their life experience some form of stress, anxiety and depression? What is frustrating is that at the end of one month, I felt that a lot of auto-suggestion was used in email communication with me that I am under stress, anxiety or depression and therefore I might need counselling in these areas.
5) At the start, I was given worksheets to work on which I diligently completed; but it felt like it was never really read or understood by the counsellor as the counsellor would lump them as me experiencing a lot of suffering with no specific references to what I have written.
Thinking back, it felt like I was being brainwashed into believing that I had bigger suffering problems than procrastination.
6) At the end of the 4 week subscription period (I assume common knowledge subscription is charged by month), the counsellor begins to reference to my procrastination issue. By that time, I decided that this online counselling was not for me and was not worth paying for.
As you can read, it was a frustrating experience for me which left me in a more negative state of mind.
Maybe for some people the online counselling works, but I do not think it is for everyone and not all the counsellors are competent.
In my case, it appears there is a lot of leading on so that I might continue subscribing to the counselling services for a longer period.
I wish I had come to an external site to read the reviews first before signing up with BetterHelp. All the reviews at their site are glowing reviews. Clever marketing!

Charged me for services not used
The counseling was OK but they make it nearly impossible to quit the service and even though my counselor requested that I get a refund for unused treatment they did not refund me. I even contacted them on the day that my service was supposed to stop. I don't like spending money on things I don't use.

BE AWARE
I have both paid and non-paid accounts.
I've decided to get help from betterhelp.
On the paid account, I've just tried to switch counselor because I've been registered the paid acount like a month ago and decided to give it a try. But It took hours and still I have no match with a counselor, this made me thinking, and I've opened another account to just give this feature a try.
On my new non-paid account, answered the questions same, I've matched with counselors in max 15 minutes, gave it couple of spins, five times!
BE AWARE that there's code written intentionally running behind to drain your SUBSCRIPTION. And you know that too BETTERHELP! Don't write me that you're sorry. Feel sorry for your shame! SHAME ON YOU. I hope you all of these intentionally made software will make you eternal burn in hell !

Average Help.
I tried them for a week and paid one fee (willingly) for the service I received from my recommended therapist.
I don't know if this would be an accurate review on how good they are because I just had 1 week with 1 therapist but my experience is that they did not live up to the name but could prove to be a good resource for finding the right help for some people.
That really is my main problem. The name of the platform is misleading. It really seems more like "Same old text book psychology but with better convenience. Let us use an algorithm to match you with whoever we have hired because all your issues are predictible."
What exactly is their help better than and how much payments do I have to make to find out? You would think they would put all efforts into making the inital customer impression excellent but for me it was the opposite. Many people have tried expensive therapists already and did not have a good experience. So when these people see this platform they might think it's a solution, but as always YMMV.
They are not a scam, you just have to read the very clear and brief instructions and you'd know about the billing system.
