I tried BetterHelp for couples therapy with my partner, and unfortunately our experience was very disappointing. In our first match, we were assigned to a therapist (Jason Brooker) who communicated in a way that felt extremely aggressive. During what was meant to be an initial assessment, I was repeatedly interrupted and felt spoken down to. Some of the comments made felt unnecessarily harsh given how little context had been established and i felt like an object being analysed rather than a human being. I left the session feeling a lot worse and quite dehumanised, as though I were being evaluated rather than understood. It was counterproductive and frankly unprofessional! On another occasion, we were matched with a different therapist who was the complete opposite, she was extremely passive and largely silent throughout the session. It genuinely felt as though we had paid £90 to speak into a screen without any meaningful facilitation or guidance. Again, the session did not move us forward in any way. Based on these experiences, I would not recommend BetterHelp for couples therapy. The inconsistency in therapist quality was concerning, and for the cost involved, I expected a more professional and balanced standard of care. Personally, I would suggest seeking an independent, qualified psychologists and people who actually have decent qualifications so you can properly review credentials and approach beforehand.

Sorry, but the very first words of the advert were “I may get cancelled for saying this….” I cannot take ANY business seriously when they stay off saying something so incredibly ignorant a stupid, and especially a website that is allegedly designed to provide therapy. “Hey, let’s start off with a little unfounded paranoia and then tell people how we can help them with their issues.” Stupid as hell.

Worst site, i’m looking for help, for a therapist, answering a lot of questions just to bring me to a payment site. Only money matters

I had three therapist on betterhelp, one was a Zionist from the USA who kept taking about her politics, she said my abuse in childhood might have been "my karma" from a past life, that's when I switched to a different therapist. The next therapist was from the UK England and she was unaware if Ireland or England were separate countries, she kept asking if I have the NHS in Ireland. She made lots of weird statements about her views on sex and was very xenophobic. I changed to a different therapist who just wanted to do guided meditation she would play a recording of someone talking as she sat there reading, she did that four times. After all that nonsense I just cancelled my membership. I did try to give it a fair chance, even changed therapists, not even sure now if they were qualified they were all so strange and lacked empathy.

However, in later sessions we felt the focus shifted away from us as clients. Chris often spoke at length about his own personal experiences, including stories about his friends and his wife. While personal examples can sometimes be helpful, in our case it felt excessive and not relevant to our situation. We were hoping for a more structured and professional approach based on therapeutic methods or research rather than personal anecdotes. We also found the session environment distracting. The background setting appeared informal and did not feel like a professional consultation space, which reduced our confidence in the online experience. Although he took a lot of notes, at times it seemed he was reading directly from his computer rather than engaging naturally in the conversation. Overall, we felt disappointed because we expected a more client-focused and structured counselling experience. As a result, we decided to cancel the membership. Despite having confirmation that the membership was cancelled, we were still charged and our refund request was refused. We also received automated cancellation messages that did not address the refund issue itself, which added to our frustration with the overall experience. Due to the billing issue I experienced, I would recommend using a payment method that prevents automatic charges until you are certain you wish to continue the subscription.

Don't do it. I joined and my therapist skipped the first 2 sessions. Actually never met him properly. No refund. No duty of care. Lucky I wasn't suicidal that day

If you look up reviews generally, you'll hit a glowing, effusive AI collection that's,clearly headed, "Sponsored". They seemed good in an initial search. They wanted an unusually large amount of personal information - actually a great deal of personal history and emotional detail; and also a written account of what brought you to seeking help, etc.. After quite some time writing a history, I went to the final page. The gotcha page. Now down to real business - you must give credit card details and are told you'll be charged the this-week-only "special" price of $88USD every week for being on their books. Read carefully. You're signing a legal agreement to allow them to take at will from your credit card; with no memtion of how or even if a suitble therapist will be found. And in spite of knowing from tje start I was in a different country and wanted face-time consults, not text messaging, it appeared that texting was still an expected thing along with telehealth type consults. Been there, done that, and had to cancel,credit cards before so while I am NOT saying this lot aren't legit, I admit that I am a tad suspicious of and familiar with this type of format being used to get credit card details. The amount of information given is more than enough for anyone with more than 2 functioning brain cells to either sound as if they know what you went through - or, if they were a "paychic" business, give excellent cold readings, albeit fraudulent. It doesn't help that their registered address, 3155 Olsen Dr, San Jose, CA 95117, United States, is actually a restaurant known as "The Good Eating Company". Also, after giving pages of personal information, if you try to write a query before handing over agreed access to your credit card, you'll be denied with a pop-up saying that, "We could not veryfy that you aren't a robot"... Seriously?

Horrible.. what happened to real therapy with real therapists. you can tell these people are not real, If you want real help, dont see any of these so Called therapist that belong to any of these platforms.
