First off, I've had nothing but good experiences with BetterHelp for a one year so far, except for today. Changing therapists is scary but I was excited to start my first video session with Ms. R. I was ready for my 4 am video session, but she was only attempting phone session instead of video, and was ignoring my question why we weren't using the agreed upon session medium. Her calls were being dropped by my cell provider and they were not making their way to me, and I explained this to her. She then immediately canceled any future sessions, accused me of disrespecting her time, and told me to find another therapist. The technical difficulty was outside of my control and she showed extremely low effort and disrespect on her part. I think this is completely inappropriate behavior and I am extremely unsatisfied with Ms. R.

The system is absolutely rubbish. You will be disconnected for many times during a live session. Your therapist was very honest to me that they got a low paid. I paid 65 per month but they could only receive around $30. They also mentioned they felt very frustrated and planned to leave soon. Thankfully, I could have their email to work with them personally. It was my pleasure to meet such a great therapist. At least they are honest.

I am disappointed about BetterHelp. I was expecting to get 4 sessions within one subscription of one month. But I got my first session after roughly one week after I paid. The last session I needed to reschedule by 4 days and then my subscription ended so I am not able to have the fourth session. My therapist didn’t respond back to my after I cancelled my subscription. I just can not afford to pay over 200 euros a month. I ACCIDENTALLY (because the last session got cancelled and I couldn’t text my therapist anymore - There were popping up so many windows and then I accidentally hit the button „renew“) renewed the subscription and they took another 200 euros now. I hope I will get it back. You renew your subscription with just one click which is really dangerous and the money is instantly gone. I wasn’t able to text my therapist after the subscription ended. As I said he didn’t respond even back to me. That’s super disappointing and shows me no respect towards my person. The sessions were exactly only 45 minutes also the first session. How can you get to know someone and their problems within 45 minutes? He wasn’t even prepared for the first session as I needed to fill out some worksheets. I can not recommend this site at all. Maybe I was just unlucky with the therapist but how can I know if he fits to me without even talking to him before? I would rather go to an offline therapist now and spend a little more money (if I would have the money). I think it will help way more. So for now I am still hoping they will return me the money back. What I also didn’t like is the big time difference. When I had evening it was midday for my therapist. UPDATE: I got the money for the accidentally renewed subscription back :)

Setup my girlfriend for therapy and all was goo until about 4 months ago when I notice payments were taken out at random and not on a consistent payment schedule. Between the therapists not having hours and dates available to what I'm assuming is max booking and the random payments pulled out the service isnt worth it. We cancelled the service because of this and it putting us in the hole for the 2nd time for their random payment schedule. I wish I could get a refund because this has been a nightmare to even contact them since all they provide is an email address.

Was a member less than one day because of the lack of Therapists that met the requirements I listed up front. Betterhelp should offer a trial period or the patient be able to review the matching requirements and select a Therapist prior to the subscription being started.

I tried a few different therapists on BetterHelp. The first one didn't seem to be listening to me at ALL so I switched a different person. The second person was great when she showed up! The first time she didn't show up I gave her a pass as she had fires by her home. The second time I'm not sure what happened but I figured she might just be not tech savvy. But the third time I was over it as she had messaged me EARLY THAT DAY letting me know that the time still works for her. So no, I do not recommend BetterHelp. I think some therapists use it as a second source of income and are not committed to their clients as if they had a private practice.

I was so anxious to start counselling and it was a huge step for me to sign up. I was waiting longer than normal for a therapist which I didn't mind as I wanted the right one. However, when I was emailing support to ask a few questions about the process my questions were ignored and I was just sent an apology, no acknowledgment of having read my message at all.

The customer service was great but the counsellors were really poor. I tried 2 and the first, Lasicillie Jonson said she could do messaging counselling (due to US/UK time difference and having a baby) but after 4 days and twice asking, did not ask me questions or actively pursue connecting so I gave up. The second, Jaqueline Verdura, told me that I needed to discuss **** because what I had asked to work through was not right - she said ‘you can’t just discuss ****because I believe*****’ - this was after a couple of days which really tells me she was not prepared to listen or start where the client was at. As someone in a similar field, I found the process very damaging and counsel was really terrible and unprofessional. When someone is in a place of vulnerability - listen is a basic requirement.
