I would give it zero stars if I could. I immediately asked for a refund .was told no. I got matched based on geography not on my needs. I asked for different counselor...the system was turned off to me...no interaction available. I wrote to customer service, no answer. I messaged the old counselor..no help. Scam. Fraud scam Fraud..BEWARE !######

This is nowhere near genuine counseling or therapy. I have crippling anxiety, and I'm going through a severe time right now, and the counselor they matched me to, literally had a copy/paste response welcoming me. Ok. Fine. And she never spoke to me again. So, how do you help someone with anxiety who literally questions every tiny thing she does? I wrote out message after message and just kept deleting them before sending. Everything felt so disgenuine. No icebreaker. No genuine asks or questions. I felt like another task for her to check off. Please, if you can, avoid stupid online platforms like these. Go see a real therapist who speaks to you, prompts you, wants to know whats going on, cares about your well being, sees your body language, listens to your tone. Therapy is so much more than "I feel anxious" and "I'm sorry you feel this way. Have you tried meditation or breathing exercises?" type responses.

Super bad experience so far. More than 2 weeks in, cannot get a meaningful conversation with anyone. Or any conversation for that matter. I feel worse than before I tried using betterhelp and well apparently that's what I paid for.

I have used this platform for just over two years with a wonderful counsellor, making excellent progress. Three days before my next session was scheduled, I got a message that my counsellor was no longer on the platform. Obviously I was very distraught as it is takes time to build a rapport and to trust someone enough to open up to. Despite sending two emails to BetterHelp for a further explanation and advice, they have not had the decency to respond

I cancelled my subscription before the end of my free trial and was still charged $180 and by the way that is WITH the "financial aid" discount applied if you are very low income. I have called and emailed and two days later still haven't heard back about getting a refund. If you are low income, don't bother with this. This is in no way comparable to in-person therapy and is not worth the money unless you have very little need for therapy and a lot of excess cash.

This is specifically about their billing. I signed up for what I thought was a $59.99 a month plan and instead they charged me $234, which I can't afford (I had to apply for financial aid.) I filed a dispute with Paypal since reading other reviews their customer service seems to be good at refusing refunds.
