Well I read the reviews, I heard the influencers say it was great and so I signed up for my 7 day full access free trial. Firstly I would not recommend this company if you’re not in America. Unfortunately for me the only good thing about this experience was the free trial! (No money lost) So I was assigned a counsellor he requested info from me (His routine question was Why counselling?) of which I responded to him. Due to the time zone differences it took approximately 18 hours for a response. I noticed when he did get back to me that he didn’t acknowledge my response to his question. He then sent a request for me to book a video call which I did, I received reminder texts for my Saturday session and so turned up online on time for my 30 minute session, 2pm came and went and this counsellor did not arrive in the virtual room I thought perhaps he’s running late but after 25 minutes of waiting I gave up. I went on to book myself a Groupinar this was advertised as 6pm GMT I turned up 3 minutes before the session was due to start. As I got in the session I could see a man already talking and lots of chatter in the group chat,angry chatter. It turned out the class had been advertised at the incorrect time and we had turned up at the finish of the class. I went to the help section of the site to let them know about both the dude not turning up and the misadvertised groupinar. I was also sent a feedback form regarding the “session” of which I also filled up. Nobody acknowledged anything I wrote and nobody responded. After I removed my subscription I got an email offering me the choice to change counsellor but no acknowledgement of anything that I had fed back. I persisted and got another counsellor this lady came out the gate stating there’s no point looking back at the past as we can’t change it she’s a solutions person and her responses took almost 24 hours to come back at which point I just felt with all the mishaps and the time zone difference this site is not for me!

Unhelpful, also if you cancel your subscription they will still continue to send you emails and messages.

I had very high hopes for my experience with betterhelp but I was extremely disappointed. I basically spent over $300 for some lady to ask me "how does that make you feel?" I really wish I was exaggerating. I was looking for insightful advice and objective guidance but what I got was unhelpful generic questions and obvious elementary observations about my issues. I feel like I got ripped off. I wanted to love this website but all I did was waste over $300.

After making one month payment for the therapy I have chosen a counselor. Although she accepted me as a client she was not responsive and I lost my time and energy with her. I chose a second counselor. We have arranged an appointment. After waiting for the appointment she cancelled it at the very last minute saying that her husband is ill. And she did not guide me the other day even though she has promised. I have found a third counselor. In our first session he told me that I need emdr and we could do it in the next session. I have waited for the next session but his camera was not working which is necessary for emdr. We have arranged a third appointment. One day before he told me that his camera will not be working. He told me that it is because of the hurricane. I would like to quit my membership and get a full refund but they do not accept.

I so badly wanted to be able to write a good review here, but I can't. They matched me quickly with a counsellor, which is great, but then the counsellor was super slow in responding. In the first week (and to date), no session was scheduled at all (despite me raising it with them) and when I raised it with them, they tasked me with finding another counsellor in their directory. I am already overwhelmed and went to them for help and also because of their marketing that they do the counsellor matching. I think it is ridiculous that they are now tasking me with finding another counsellor when the only reason I need another counsellor is because the first one is not responding. I cannot recommend them at all. I am still trying to get my money back as no services have been delivered at all.

They are just in it for the money. I tried to communicate with them by email to end my subscription and they have been ignoring my emails and messages. Instead If there is no response,to my request for a cancellation, I shall be taking legal action. Maria Caparis

They completely stood me up, ignored my messages and didn’t attend my scheduled appointment with not so much as a message to cancel. I will be demanding a full refund.
