Our one year old had trouble sleeping ever since he was born and for the most part he required contact naps. The bedtime process had gotten so drawn out only for him to sleep two hours in his crib before waking up crying at which point we would co-sleep the rest of the night. However, since he was about 9 months old, co-sleeping wasn’t even helping and so no one was getting sleep. We decided to try Batelle as a last ditch effort and I was drawn to it because they do not use any form of CIO. I loved that they wanted to engage with baby, not disengage. Within the first week I noticed huge progress. The first couple of nights were rough, just getting used to the new routine but since then each night has only improved. We just graduated sleep school today and two nights ago my little guy slept all night from 7:30p-630a for the first time ever! And last night, he chose to fall asleep on his own within 15 minutes of being in the crib with absolutely no crying or fussing. Personally, I feel you cannot put a price on the whole family getting quality sleep.

we love Batelle 🤍
We are so pleased with our experience with Batelle. Our little sleeper definitely pushed us. She was so used to a lot of sleep associations with us. And it started to take its toll on us. We had to go through sleep school twice because of life events and her strong will. There were a few times where it felt like it wouldn’t work and we wanted to throw in the towel and get a refund… but we stuck with it and we’re so glad we did. What we love about Batelle is their willingness to work through sleep school how it works with the child and the family. Their compassion, their understanding and their encouragement to stick with it. They are so accommodating and so lovely. What we also love is they have become part of our little family in the way they support sleep. As we finish sleep school and move into alumni we know the support from them isn’t over until the age of 6 and that is a huge blessing to know we have support to contact. I would like to especially thank Elizabeth and Io. Our friends 🤍 if you’re blessed enough to chat with them through your experience - you will be so rewarded. Thank you Batelle 🤍

Don’t expect nap support
We signed up to sleep school with our 15 month old who was waking repeatedly overnight, would only feed back to sleep and often ended up sleeping on me after midnight, meaning I had even more disturbed sleep. Sleep school initially started well - lots of information, clear guidance, a responsive team - and although it was really hard and there were lots of tears, we did make some progress. No more night feeds and staying in her cot for 12 hours. However, even at step 6/7, we ended up with more wakes than ever, and she was not settling quickly for the majority of them as she was not being fed. I accepted this as part of the process. But gradually things began to unravel. Despite being clear from the start that one of my key goals was to be able to stop contact napping, and being told at the start that my goals were achievable, I was then told that sleep school didn’t offer the advertised 24/7 support for naps and that this was not part of sleep school. We also started being given conflicting information from different employees, and they were not reading notes about our family or my messages properly, which was confusing and frustrating. I felt totally misled and I lost trust in the company despite them offering some more personalised support. We left sleep school after a week and received a full refund. Whilst it gave me the push to night wean my daughter, and we are maintaining our boundary around her staying in the cot till morning and using the settling techniques, we have reverted back to earlier stages as she was getting way too distressed (head banging). We are still dealing with some tears, long bedtimes, and numerous wakes. I don’t believe she feels particularly safe in the cot despite following their guidance, but like another reviewer I just don’t know what to do now that we’ve stripped our usual sleep cues and are left with theirs. It became clear to me quite quickly that they don’t expect all children to be sleeping through within 2 weeks, but they hope that for those that aren’t they will be able to get you to stay with extra 1:1 guidance. I’m now waiting to start with a 1:1 sleep consultant for a third of the price.

If you have a nightmare sleeper toddler then don’t hesitate to Batelle!
We’re on day 9 of the programme and it has been absolutely life changing already. I would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone with a problem sleeper.
Our son is 27 months. He has been a poor sleeper from the start, despite our having tried seemingly everything going.
We had a snoo when he was little, which we tried to use in combination with Taking Cara Babies when the snoo itself didn’t have the desired effect; then we moved him into his own Bedroom and it was as disaster - we used the little ones program- it didn’t help at all and I spent hours each day in dark rooms trying anything to get him on schedule. After that disaster we had a sleep consultant. That also wasn’t helpful, then after a few more months, we tried CIO in desperation, then we moved house and he reverted to new born style sleep - waking up every hour or so! We slept in his room. Then my parents helped, and that improved things a little for a while, but then it went down hill again, we tried gradual retreat - a disaster and he would cry and protest for hours.
In the end, around 20 months old we ended up getting him to sleep the first part of the night in his own bed by us being in the room with him, and then when he woke up we would bring him in to bed with us.
But then he started taking over an hour to go to sleep- with more and more outrageous demands before doing so, and would wake up asking to come to mummy and daddy’s bed by around 2130! And would then wake up at 0539 at the latest.
We were broken and utterly desperate.
But then we started Batelle.
And now he’s sleeping from 1915-0645 in his own bed! And he does 2 hours naps!
This happened within SEVEN DAYS of commencing the programme- I’m gobsmacked!
Batelle is a completely different method from anything we have done before - in that rather than retreating from your child you actively engage with a very specific energy. The programme helps to build the child’s trust in their sleep space as “safe” and to understand that their caregivers will always be there for them. It turns out that this is exactly what our nightmare sleeper needed to be able to sleep like an angel!
Some of the other reviews say that the method is not “gentle” - I really disagree with this. It is gentle, but it is firm. I would absolutely advocate that if you follow the steps exactly as set out by the calls and the reading. Get support via the ring camera and app as soon as you feel anything other than than 100% confident. Don’t feel you need to guess what to do or what your child needs, nor be creative in your responses- the beauty of the support and the material provided is that you do not need to. Take full advantage of the programme to see success.
The support from the team on the app and in the Q&As and 1-on-1 sessions on offer while you are on the programme is completely amazing and well worth the money.
It’s so helpful to feel you have cheerleaders at 4am, because the programme does require that caregivers learn too - you have to try new things and commit, and this can be hard when you have learned a different way of coping. But their coaching via the ring camera, as well as just chatting with us during wake ups and their encouragement through the programme has been awesome.
Every sleep guide we have spoken with in the app or in Q&As has been so great. While I’m delighted that our son is sleeping, I’m a little sad not to have an excuse to chat to them as regularly! I’ll miss them when the programme is over. But - I know with Batelle that we can reach out for support until his 6th birthday- which is just incredible.
Batelle has taught us all about sleep, but also about new ways to engage with each other that are helping all aspects of family life.
It was an unexpected bonus to have access to guidance on behavior, development and how to hold boundaries from an expert - Elizabeth- that you can start applying right away. Our son has had some behavioural issues lately, and these got a little worse at one stage of the programme- but through application of Elizabeth’s suggested methods we have noticed instant improvement. We will continue to build on this and seek her guidance for the duration of the programme.
Truly, I cannot say enough about how awesome Batelle has been for us, and I just wish we had started sooner.
I encourage anyone to try it!

Challenging, but worth it!
!! Honest review to follow!
My baby had never been a good sleeper. He was colicky and cried nonstop for three months. I slept next to his bassinet and when he outgrew it, I tried to put him in his crib, then a floor bed, and eventually gave up and shared a bed. When he was 9 months I was exhausted and tired of buying guides and products that weren’t working for us (it’s SO different for every baby), so we bit the bullet.
He actually started in June but after repeating the third step for three nights they asked us to come back for the next session because we suspected he was teething. That was frustrating—when is a 9 month old NOT teething for a full two weeks? But between sessions I was able to meet with their feeding specialist (night weaning has been the hardest part) and they helped me come up with a plan so it didn’t feel like time wasted. I was extremely nervous, but we started back a few weeks later.
He had rough moments but within a couple of nights I could totally see it working. I will say that I managed this process on my own and I don’t know how it’ll work for my husband to take the lead, for example, but there were live workshops for things like adding caregivers and sleeping while traveling, etc, after you finish the first week. Speaking of week two, I didn’t have to enter my baby’s room at all after our bedtime routine and before I woke him up in the morning—a few times he didn’t make a peep for 11 hours!
And I will absolutely say that it is HARD. For the parent, it feels like boot camp for the first few nights. But it is SO worth the effort and the price tag! Truly, I’m sure I spent just as much on influencers’ PDF guides and midnight “miracle product” purchases before we stumbled upon Batelle. The custom-tailored care my baby and I received through sleep school and that I trust I’ll receive throughout their five-year promise is invaluable.

Desperate for a solution …
We came to Batelle in total desperation - our 16 month old son was a terrible sleeper. He was awake multiple times a night and each wake up took us at least an hour (sometimes 2-3 hours) to get him back to sleep. We were all absolutely exhausted. We tried everything - including the cry-it-out method and hiring a pricey sleep consultant. Nothing seemed to work for us and we were at our wits end. The Batelle program has been amazing. I love how gentle the method is - nothing similar to cry-it-out. The support is absolutely incredible. We started to see results very quickly, though it was definitely a tough process. After just two weeks our son now falls asleep independently within 5 minutes, no crying or fussing and sleeps all night! We are absolutely thrilled and would highly recommend this program to any family struggling with sleep.

Batelle saved my sanity by showing me how to put my son to sleep alone
This new company meets & exceeds my expectations. Everyone was very accommodating & helpful and this routine has changed our lives for the better. My son is now sleeping in his own bed through the whole night 11-12 hours regularly. I appreciate the help whenever you need it and Batelle staff always try their best to figure out everyone’s situation and tailor make a program for them.
Now there were a few hiccups which is expected with a new company- like not receiving our box with the sleep sack on time as well as some miscommunication logging on when requested to do so. Overall I am extremely satisfied with this program and believe it can help a lot of people if they follow the steps exactly as laid out by the staff

Goes Far More than the Extra Mile
I recently assisted a member of my family who has a 9 month old baby over the first week of the Batelle sleep school. On the basis of what I experienced, I have rated it very highly for the following reasons.
Firstly, the programme is very cleverly designed and makes highly effective and smart use of a combination of verbal visual and physical techniques which will, in one form or another, be familiar to anyone who has ever tried to persuade a baby to adopt a more "parent friendly" sleep pattern; and e-resources such as webcams, baby monitors, white noise night lights, Apps and Zoom based webinars.
Secondly, the programme was extremely well delivered; and the information and guidance which Batelle provided both before and over the two weeks of the school itself was laudably clear and user-friendly.
Finally, and most importantly, the quality, level and, above all, responsiveness of the real time support which Batelle's staff offered was invariably helpful and, at times, quite astonishing.
