Baleaf373932 Was ordered around July 1. I was advised that it shipped. On 7/10 I received an email saying it was on the way. When I check tracking, I was advised that it hasn’t shipped. This is not the way to do business. Is it a scam? Why am I not getting an update?
UPDATE: I asked for a refund since there was no other reasonable offer. However, they have gone silent. This is an unethical company.
Response from Baleaf SportsJul 29, 2026
We're sincerely sorry for the confusion and delay with your order. We want to assure you that this is not a scam. Unfortunately, the item you ordered is currently out of stock, which has delayed the shipment. We've sent you a private message with several options to help resolve this, and we'd appreciate it if you could let us know which one you prefer. We truly value your support and hope to make this right. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

No exchanges & $5.00 / item deducted from returns
Given the sizing difficulty when buying online, this companies policies are unreasonable. Will not be purchasing Baleaf products in the future.
Response from Baleaf SportsJul 20, 2026
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback, and we're truly sorry to hear about your disappointment with our return policy.
We completely understand that finding the right size when shopping online can be challenging, and we sincerely apologize for the frustration this has caused.
At this time, we no longer support direct exchanges. Instead, we offer returns for a refund, after which you're welcome to place a new order for the size that best suits you.
Please note that a $5.00 USD return shipping fee is deducted per item from your refund to help cover the cost of the return shipping label and processing. We understand this may not be the experience you were hoping for, and we appreciate your honest feedback. Your comments will be shared with our team as we continue evaluating ways to improve our policies and provide a better shopping experience.
Thank you again for your feedback and for giving BALEAF a try.

Heads up if you shop Baleaf!
Heads up if you shop Baleaf!
Update: after this review went up, they refunded the full $43 with no return required, plus offered a discount code. Draw your own conclusions about why that only happened after I went public.

I want to save you the horror of the AI-script that is Baleaf customer service, but rather than post the entire email exchange, let me summarize what I've learned over many exchanges, for what will be useful for you, my fellow humans.
The standard shipping is free if you spend enough. If you want to return any item from you order, $5 is deducted from any refund PER ITEM (not the entire order).
Standard shipping does not guarantee a refund unless you choose the add-on Worry Free shipping, which in my case was around $5. If you do choose this add-on, this is the email you get from the third party, Seel, who runs this racket:
"You made an excellent choice shopping from Baleaf Sports! They've partnered with Seel to bring you Worry-Free Delivery® on your order #baleafxxxxxx (Seel contract ID: 20260712022 · Fee: $5.19 USD), which allows you to return or exchange your item if there's a product-related issue. You also have access to live support, tracking, and product concierge powered by AI."
This is important, notice the wording "product-related issue". What this means according to BaLeaf customer service rep or AI persona "Joel", is that this only applies if something is wrong with the product, like if it's damaged. This does NOT apply if it looks and fits much different than the marketing photo shows.
The rep or AI personas would not tell me what the standard shipping covers, even over many email exchanges, they just avoided the question repeatedly, in that weird fake soothing but vague tone that AI uses.
But since Worry Free Shipping only covers "product related issues, that makes me believe that their standard shipping does not cover damaged products . Nobody would confirm or deny this, my questions were simply absorbed into the void.
If you cross correlate their lack of information about what is covered with the reviews online that say customer service for returns is bad or non existent, a fuller picture emerges. Their standard shipping and standard return policy without the add-on of Worry Free Shipping, is essentially "hope it gets to you and you like it, cuz if not, sucks to be you".
This is also important: BaLeaf is far from the last word in mid tier synthetic clothing out of China. I learned through my 47 woman hiking group that CRZ Yoga, OQQ, Halara, Colorfulkoala, all occupy this range also. I googled BaLeaf info and found that they are just 3 percent of the market share, and with this level of very strange, very evasive customer service, they will likely not occupy this position for long. I have not yet shopped the other places, so I cannot review them, but hopefully they have not fallen into the AI enshittification that BaLeaf has chosen.
Ask them about their new "Leave us a tip!" option. I asked repeatedly where it goes, that money, and "Joel" told me it doesn't go to any customer service rep or worker, but refused to say where it does go, who it goes to. Secret crowd funding for the company investors? Who will say? Not Baleaf!
Good luck if you shop these jokers. Eventually "Dahn" waived the $5. And notably, the reason Dahn gave me was specific and honest: "our website did not clearly provide the details regarding the Worry-Free Purchase coverage in relation to our return shipping fee." Baleaf, in writing, finally admitted the exact gap I'd been pointing at the whole time.
I am donating instead of returning.
Dhan's reply steered me toward buying from their Amazon storefront instead of Baleaf.com, explicitly because Amazon absorbs return costs that Baleaf can't.
That's a pretty candid admission of the business reality underneath all of this, that direct-to-consumer margins are thin enough that "free returns" isn't sustainable off-Amazon, so they built the ambiguous Worry-Free product as a workaround instead of just saying "returns cost us $5, sorry." Which HUMANS understand, we all know that it's a struggle out there in every direction. But it took days to even get this far, to where I finally uncovered that whole structural reason, not just a rude script.
The whole thing is absurd in hindsight. A single accurate paragraph, sent the first time I asked, would have taken thirty seconds and cost Baleaf nothing. Instead they burned through Jenelyn, Joel, and Dhan, three separate people (or scripted personas), multiple email threads, an escalation, a fee waiver, and now a lost customer (me) who's telling a 47-person hiking group and leaving reviews across multiple platforms.
The "savings" from staying vague cost them vastly more than just answering honestly ever would have.

Thank you for taking the time to share such detailed feedback. We're truly sorry that your experience with us has been so frustrating and that our explanations left you feeling unheard.
We understand why this experience has affected your confidence in BALEAF. Our intention was never to be unclear or evasive, and we regret that our communication did not provide the straightforward answers you were looking for.
Your comments about the clarity of our checkout experience, including the distinction between our standard return policy and the optional Worry-Free Purchase service, are important. We recognize that these details should be easier to understand before customers make a purchase, and we appreciate you pointing out where our communication fell short.
As we mentioned previously, we made a one-time exception to waive your return fee because we agreed that the information presented on our website regarding the Worry-Free Purchase coverage and our return policy could have been clearer. We've also shared your feedback internally so our team can continue improving how these policies are communicated.
We're genuinely sorry that this experience overshadowed your opinion of our products. We understand and respect your decision, even though we're disappointed to lose you as a customer. Honest feedback—especially when it's critical—helps us identify areas where we need to do better.
Thank you again for taking the time to explain your perspective. We wish you all the best with your hiking adventures and appreciate the opportunity we had to serve you.

Bad customer service
I had a problem with one of the 4 pair of capris I bought. I contacted “customer service” several times and they just ignored me.

We understand how disappointing this must have been, especially after purchasing four pairs of our capris and experiencing an issue with one of them. Your experience is not the one we want for our customers, and we sincerely regret letting you down.
Thank you for taking the time to share your honest feedback. Your comments have been shared with our customer support team to help us improve our response times, communication, and overall customer experience.
We're committed to making this right. If you're willing to give us the opportunity, please contact us directly at [email protected] with your order details. We'll review your case personally and do our best to provide a prompt and satisfactory resolution.

"Easy Returns" are a total scam
I have reached out to Baleaf five times in the last nine days in an attempt to get instructions to return two swimsuits. I bought four and planned to return those that didn't fit. I wrote Baleaf (as per their instructions) and received a very lengthy AI generated response asking if I would like to try another size. I wrote back and indicated that I was, in fact, keeping two items that fit, and no, I wanted instructions to make a return. I have now received the same AI email multiple times as well as other shorter emails letting me know my case is pending, but with no instructions or follow up. I would *NEVER* buy from this company again. The supposed easy returns are clearly a flagrant lie. I will be filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau.

Warning on returns/exchanges, it will cost you!
Warning that if you want to exchange an item, they do not accept exchanges and require you to pay $5 per item for any returns, even if you are intending to buy something else. Additionally, due to an error on their part they took nearly a week just to “approve” my return. They were unapologetic about the delay, even though they stated the return “approval” would take 1-3 days (it took 7). They were completely unwilling to work with me and said it’s their standard policy. They did not uphold their policy of 1-3 days, however they were unwilling to do anything to help me because “it’s their standard policy” to make you pay to return items and not offer any exchange options. This was incredibly disappointing after I spent a large amount of money on their clothing. Unless you know for a fact that the clothing will fit (which is impossible to know) then I wouldn’t order from this company unless you want to pay extra to return an unused item. Absurd.
Response from Baleaf SportsApr 30, 2026
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We sincerely apologize that approving your return request took longer than expected. That’s not the experience we aim to provide.
Regarding exchanges, we no longer offer them because the process can take significantly more time—customers would need to return the item, wait for it to be received and processed, and only then would we ship the replacement. Instead, we recommend placing a new order for the correct size while returning the original item, as this is typically much faster overall.
We also understand your concerns about the return shipping fee. As a small company, this fee helps cover part of the return handling costs, but we recognize how this may feel disappointing.
That said, we’re truly committed to making this right. Please feel free to reach out to us directly at [email protected], and we’ll do our best to review your case and assist you further as quickly as possible.
We appreciate your feedback and hope to have the opportunity to improve your experience and rectify the issue right away.

Items missing from the order
Items missing from the order. Baleaf said they delivered the remaining order but did not. Further, there was no camera evidence to indicate that happened.
Ordered 3 items and still have only received one. The one item received was of poor quality material and way too big. I’ve requested a return and still have not received instructions to do so-even though they say I should have received them by now. And yes, it was not in my spam folder. Terrible experience and do not recommend.
Response from Baleaf SportsApr 6, 2026
Hi Kelly,
We’re very sorry to hear about your experience and truly regret the frustration this situation has caused.
According to our records, the order was shipped to the shipping address entered at checkout, and unfortunately we’re unable to modify the address once an order has already been dispatched.
That said, we want to make this right. Our team has reached out to you directly and we’re willing to process a full refund for the order due to this unpleasant experience.
Please check your email so we can resolve this for you as quickly as possible.

The worst customer service ever
The worst customer service ever. Despite repeated offers to refund my money because the pants were shorter than advertised, they have not performed and are notorious for failing to respond to my emails. (That's really sad, because other than the length being shorter than advertised, I really liked the product and anticipated being a long-time customer.)
Response from Baleaf SportsMar 9, 2026
Hi Sharon, we’re very sorry to hear that you feel this way and apologize for the frustration caused. We understand the concern regarding the pants being shorter than expected. As previously discussed, we have already processed the refund for your order to help resolve the issue. If there is anything else we can assist you with, please feel free to send us a direct message with your order number and we’ll be happy to help. We truly appreciate your feedback.
